Acadia University

Acadia University Visit http://acadiau.ca Acadia University’s campus is beautiful. When you step onto campus, you enter a world of opportunity. Choose Acadia - choose opportunity.

So beautiful, in fact, that we often hear the phrase, “I visited the campus and fell in love with it.” Just steps beyond Acadia’s campus you can explore a lavish natural environment that includes the world’s highest tides, vineyards, woodland trails, farmlands, bustling markets, quaint shops, art galleries, a thriving live theatre scene, the tidal mudflats of the Bay of Fundy (one of the Seven Nat

ural Wonders of the World), and some of the most delicious culinary experiences on Earth. What's more, our location in the heart of Annapolis Valley provides students with access to a variety of ecosystems often used in field-based research and course work, providing a rich balance of both indoor and outdoor laboratory experiences. Founded in 1838, Acadia University is one of the oldest and most respected liberal arts universities in Canada. Located just a one-hour drive from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Acadia is an integral part of the quintessential college town of Wolfville, overlooking the Annapolis Valley and the Bay of Fundy. Work closely with professors, volunteer within the community, study abroad, enjoy world-class co-op placements, and engage in real-world research. Acadia’s four faculties – Arts, Pure and Applied Sciences, Professional Studies, and Theology – offer more than 200 degree combinations across undergraduate and graduate programs.

Our researchers are now 1.7 MILLION steps closer to understanding ticks and protecting Canadians from their impacts! 🤯

We are thrilled to announce today that thanks to Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), Research Nova Scotia, and the Province of Nova Scotia, we brought in $1.7 million in support of the Canadian Tick Research and Innovation Centre (CTRIC) at Acadia University 👏🎊

“Anyone who spends time outdoors in Nova Scotia knows ticks are becoming harder to ignore. Acadia is building world-class expertise around a problem that is growing here and across the country, and turning that research into made-in-Canada solutions. We’re investing in the space and tools for that work to continue, reach the market and keep people safe and healthy.” - The Honourable Kody Blois, Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister and Member of Parliament for Kings—Hants

This one-of-a-kind facility, led by Dr. Nicoletta Faraone in Acadia's Chemistry department, is Canada’s only tick research lab, helping faculty and students learn more about how we can keep Canadians safe from Lyme disease, anaplasmosis, and other diseases spread through tick bites.

How does it feel to be an artist with a painting on display at the Louvre? A restauranteur with a Michelin Star? An athlete on an Olympic podium?

That's exactly how our interdisciplinary Southern Mani Archeological Project (SMAP) team described the feeling of sending their marble samples to the Field Museum in Chicago, Illinois 👏🗺️

The Mani Marbles making their debut at the Field Museum is just the latest chapter in a saga of adventure and discovery for the SMAP team.

A supporter? A mentor? Someone to go to when you're missing home?

For recent kinesiology grad, Kate Bemrose, Dr. Marianne Clark was all 3 💗

It’s all the little moments outside the classroom, from exploring local trails to grabbing drinks at Charts Café, that make a BIG difference in making you feel like you belong 🤝🅰️

What a way to wrap our 2026 Thank You Letter series! 🥹

From coursework to career plans, finishing your degree can bring on a wide mix of emotions 🎓

When recent psychology grad Deja Forbes needed support in her final year, she found it in an unexpected, yet truly special connection with Dr. Kathryn Bell.

This is your reminder that the right mentor can change everything 💡

When starting university, you don't have to have it all figured out. Sometimes, the best opportunities (and the best people) show up when we least expect them 💗💡

For Kylie DeViller, a co-op placement in Dr. Zoë Migicovsky’s lab changed everything. What started as a computer science student’s curiosity turned into a passion for plant agriculture, blending data analysis with meaningful research.

Now continuing her work through a Master’s in Biology, Kylie is proof that unexpected paths can lead somewhere incredible (and a little support from the right people can make all the difference✨).

You've felt her energy on our pages, you've read her stories on our website, and now recent graduate, Angel Percentie, is here to give a special shout out to Dr. Wanda Campbell!

From the their time spent together in the classroom to their work on Acadia's creative arts magazine, the Estuary, the learning, inspiration, and appreciation shared between these two is simply magical ✨

Stories like this can certainly heal ❤️
