Acadia Pregnancy & Parenting Support Providing resources & support to students looking for help in continuing their pregnancy and their education & students needing help parenting. We get it.

Some of us have been there and want to help. APS is a confidential and free resource available to any student experiencing an unplanned or difficult pregnancy situation. This safe environment offers nonjudgmental peer support, accurate information and a wealth of resources. We are here to help support those who wish to consider continuing their education and pregnancy. We are not a rights or advoc

acy group, nor are we interested in creating controversy; our mission is to show love and acceptance to our fellow students who are experiencing an unplanned pregnancy, and to connect them with positive, practical support. This is a student-led group working in a partnership with The Valley Care Pregnancy Centre (VCPC), a Christian non-profit organization in Kentville. Our group is non-discriminatory and membership is open to all students at Acadia. Samantha Hicks, a VCPC staff member and recent Acadia Alumna, will act as a liaison, coach, and active consultant to the group.

We were downtown Wolfville today surveying Acadia students. We said, "Hey, do you have 30 seconds for a quick survey about Acadia Pregnancy Support? It's a Christian organization helping pregnant and parenting students. We're the facilitators." ... 50% of them gave us their contact info saying they wanted more information on how they could help Acadia Pregnancy Support! The other half were very positive and encouraging as they filled out the survey, but said they were busy. Only three people seemed disinterested in the cause.
