✨SCHLUSSKONZERTE 2026 – VORGESTELLT ✨
Heute mit Ruben Hudnik, Horn (Klasse Christian Lampert)
« At 18, Strauss wrote this concerto for his father, Franz, a famous horn player at the time. The music, however, turned out to be so demanding that Franz found it too "dangerous" to perform – a fact confirmed in a letter from Richard’s sister to Dennis Brain. This shows a young Strauss respecting what came before him and pushing it into something entirely new.
To me, this concerto is the story of a hero standing bravely against the challenges life brings. In moments when his future seems unsure and the hero's dreams completely out of reach, this music captures the blind, youthful hope he needs. The fanfares represent the immense will necessary to realise something that for now is only an idea in one's mind. Strauss reminds me that even when life feels impossible, stubborn is what allows us to rise to the challenge and turn a struggle into something new and magnificent.»
