EAA 2026 in Athens 🇬🇷🧬

Very happy to have presented some of the latest results from our CeltUDAlps project at the 32nd Annual Meeting of the European Association of Archaeologists.

In my talk, “Paleogenetic Insights into Mobility and Population Structure of Late Iron Age Individuals from North and South of the Alps”, I shared what ancient DNA is revealing about mobility, population structure and biological connections North and South of the Alps during the Late Iron Age.

It was especially exciting to present some of our newest results and to discuss them with colleagues working on mobility and connectivity in the past.

A big thank you to the organisers of and to everyone who came to the session, asked questions and shared their thoughts!

And, of course, thanks to all the collaborators behind this work — definitely a team effort. ❤️

A month late, but better late than never, I would like to draw your attention to this press release published on Swiss Info about our new data published in 2025 on aspects of Celtic mobility in Switzerland. It is available in several languages, including Italian... Thank you, Christoph Ku**er, for your interest.

It turns out the Helvetii were sedentary networkers rather than nomadic warriors.
