The Goetheanum Studium is part of the General Anthroposophical Section.

Here you will find information on study programs led by scholars, researchers and professionals from the Sections of the Goetheanum - Freie Hochschule für Geisteswissenschaft The ‹Anthroposophical Studies in English› program permits primarily younger people to acquire new orientation and depth in the pursuit of Anthroposophy.

Taking it outside! ☀️

The students from our Art Study Year took their sculpture workshop outdoors to the beautiful surroundings of Ermitage Castle, just a 30-minute walk from the Goetheanum.

They captured the warm autumn light in marble, working with their own hands. So much fun! 🍂

A full trimester on architecture? Yes, we have it! 🏛️

The Winter Term of our Art Study Year introduces students to Rudolf Steiner’s architecture, focusing on the First and Second Goetheanum, their annexes, and the principles underlying their design.

📖 Before moving on to hands-on studio work, students engage in a close study of one of Steiner’s fundamental works, “The Philosophy of Freedom”.

Deepening Anthroposophy through Eurythmy 🙆‍♀️

With many years of experience, Barbara Bäumler brings her expertise of Eurythmy to Goetheanum Studium. ✨

This program offers an introduction to the foundational aspects of Anthroposophy through Eurythmy, the movement art developed by Rudolf Steiner.

It also provides an orientation to Eurythmy for those considering further training in the artistic, pedagogical, social, or curative fields. Students share classes and activities with students from other programs on campus.

We've got sunshine on a cloudy day! ☀️

The cloudy weather didn’t stop our first class trip to Le Corbusier’s Chapelle Notre-Dame du Haut in Ronchamp 🇫🇷 a landmark of modern architecture in Europe.

Students from our Anthroposophy Studies program and Art Study Year came together for a day of architecture, art, and shared inspiration.

A lot to take in, and a wonderful way to begin the academic year! 🌥️

In collaboration with the Section for Performing Arts at the Goetheanum, this program explores Anthroposophy through Eurythmy, the movement art developed by Rudolf Steiner.

The course offers an orientation to Eurythmy and an introduction for those considering further training. Students share classes and activities with students from other programs, creating opportunities for learning across different fields of study.

Happy Birthday, Goethe! 🎂

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe played a central role in Rudolf Steiner’s biography. During his years in Weimar (1890–1897), Steiner worked at the Goethe Archive, editing Goethe’s scientific writings and engaging deeply with his work. 📜

Every year, our students travel to Weimar, visit Goethe’s house and garden house, and connect with the roots and context of Steiner’s early writings.

On Goethe’s birthday, we celebrate the author whose name lives on in both our building and our school, and who continues to inspire our approach to knowledge, nature, and the human being. ✨
