Master Design Luzern

Master Design Luzern Switzerland‘s most advanced MA programme in Design. Master Design practice-oriented Design addressing social, technological and economic issues. Lucerne’s M.A.

Our goal is to forge the next generation of Designers who – more than ever – are requested as leaders in cross sector innovation. An expanding occupa-tional field in Design, which mainly will be characterized by the collaboration between different disciplines – all together addressing social, technological and economic issues and putting humans first and at the centre of the Design Intervention. p

rogramme therefore offers what we call a «Reality-Lab» – a platform for approaching issues between Design, Society, Technology and Economy in a transdisciplinary way and from a Human–Centred-Design point of view. We offer ambitious Designers an intense full–time or part–time study programme with the opportunity to develop a self–managed project and viable solutions together with our partners from research and the industry.

🚀 Master Project Sneak Peek - GD Codex Algorithm, by Pietro Peduzzi from Digital Ideation. 🎮✨

With „AI“ becoming an overused buzzword, Pietro notices that it’s getting harder to find and research real game design algorithms. His solution? A virtual archive of game design AI system which help developers learn and make effective decision.

Specialising in game design and digital products, Pietro has plans for his project: “I plan to update the website so developers can easily add their own systems to the archive, with clear examples to guide them. Working with established groups will help reach more game designers. Resulting feedback will drive improvements and highlight useful features.”

This semester, our Master’s students collaborated with the Swiss Catholic Church to rethink the use of religious spaces at St. Philipp-Neri and St. Johannes.

Split into groups, they proposed creative interventions: reshaping layouts by placing a “church within a church,” moving the altar, and opening the space for broader use, such as workspaces, libraries, or cafés. They also explored rebranding ideas to make the church’s identity more inclusive and relevant to the community.

🌍✨ How did Climate Community Street Play bring urban climate issues to the streets? Hear it firsthand from Myriel Milićević! Developed by Myriel and Ruttikorn Vuttikorn, this project unites local neighbours to tackle and navigate the challenges of global warming, fostering climate communities that support people, plants, animals, and all beings in shared environments.
The initiative first took shape with students from the Design and Urban Futures program at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam in spring 2022. Since then, workshops have been held in Thailand with youth from the Klong Toey district, students at KMUTT’s School of Architecture and Design in Bangkok, and high school students from Panyaden International School, along with Mass Communication students at Chiang Mai University.
Ready to play with the challenges and create a sustainable future? Stay tuned for climatecommuniti.es! 🌱💪
