My exchange semester took me to the city of Enschede in the Netherlands, and it turned out to be an unforgettable journey brimming with fresh experiences, new friendships, and personal growth.
One of the highlights of my time in Enschede was the academic environment at Hogeschool Saxion. The university's innovative teaching approach was clear in its modern facilities and interactive methods. I'll really miss the engaging discussions with my teachers and peers.
Beyond the academic side, I got to embrace the Dutch way of life. Biking became my go-to way of getting around, and I quickly realized that biking wasn't just about travel—it was a way to truly connect with the local culture.
During weekends, I often explored both within and beyond the Netherlands, and the country's remarkable diversity always amazed me.
The Dutch people's warmth, openness, and straightforwardness made a lasting impression on me. I formed friendships that crossed borders and languages, creating a global network that I'm sure will last beyond my time abroad. Together, we wandered through local cafes, went on trips, and celebrated cultural festivals, deepening my understanding of different backgrounds and broadening my perspective.
As the semester came to an end, I noticed how much I had developed personally and academically. My horizons had expanded, and I had been challenged to adapt. Leaving Enschede was a mix of feelings, as I had to bid farewell to the city that had become my home away from home.
