EPFL’s recently launched Tech4Impact Initiative is a key instrument for enhancing the University’s social and environmental impact in the areas of education, research, and innovation with the overall aim to become a flagship project for societal change in the academic environment.

From addressing essential technology needs in emerging countries to tackling the global energy needs of tomorrow, EPFL “walks the talk” with its track record of housing disruptive research projects and start-ups in support of the UN’s sustainable development goals. To further this engagement, EPFL has engaged in a partnership with Muhammad Yunus, founder of the Grameen Bank and Nobel Peace Prize laureate, to establish the first Yunus Social Business Center in Switzerland.
