“A lot of people have this thought of St.Gallen or the SIM looking for a specific kind of people, but I think it’s the exact opposite. I think it is because everyone is so different, that we can leverage the best parts of everyone.” – Sung-Min Chang, SIM20 (2023 intake)

“I think what the SIM teaches very well is how much responsibility you have as a leader, and this can be social responsibility but also corporate. Through the SIMagination initiative but also through the other courses, this impact element is always present.” – Daria Leus, SIM21 (2024 intake)

“I’m very excited to be part of something bigger, so not just studying to get a better job, but studying to build myself as a person, and SIM is a really good programme for helping personalise your way through life.” – Antonia Secelean, SIM22 (2025 intake)

A master’s programme is shaped not only by what happens in the classroom, but by the community that forms around it. At the SIM, our Regulars’ Tables (RTs) are a vital part of that experience; student-led, non-curricular gatherings that create space for connection, reflection and cultural exchange.

Throughout the autumn semester, three RTs brought SIMmies together in meaningful ways. From sharing food that reflected home countries and personal stories, to a nature-filled meet-up at the botanical garden, and finally closing the semester with games and winter warmth at SIMwonderland, each gathering offered a chance to connect beyond academic life.

As the year comes to a close, we look back on these moments that continue to shape the SIM Community, one grounded in diversity, belonging and shared growth.

“I’m a person that thrives when I do stuff that has meaningful impact for the society, for the community. We’re obviously aiming for success, aiming for a good job, aiming for a good life, but really doing something, giving back to society, because we are all very fortunate people to be here and there are a lot of people who are less fortunate than us. So, giving back has always been a big part of my life.” – Jacopo Scagliarini, SIM22 (2025 intake)

This autumn, we hosted three inspiring SIM Career Teatime evenings — intimate sessions designed to give our students valuable insights into diverse career paths and the chance to reflect on their own journeys through the stories of experienced SIMmies.

We’re deeply grateful to the SIM Community members who joined us on campus and online for these authentic, open, and energizing conversations. They truly captured the SIM Spirit — caring for each other and striving together for a better world. 🌍

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible panellists — Vrinda Kumar (SIM16), Yash Gadiya (SIM15), Dina Nasretdinova (SIM14), Keisha Mathews (SIM18), Krishank Rao (SIM19), Franz Tschimben (SIM9), Lukas Zähringer (SIM14), Katharina Hennes (SIM16), Pascal Mutschler (SIM1), Anna Zorina (SIM10), and Andrea Tempesta (SIM15) — for sharing your journeys and inspiring the next generation of SIM leaders.
