More than just a field trip, a mountain of growth.

Last week, our Grade 3 and 4 students went on an unforgettable residential trip to Camp Suisse in the stunning Swiss Alps.

True to our IB PYP philosophy, the mountains became a living classroom. Facing challenges such as rock climbing, mountain biking, and high ropes, our students embraced being risk-takers. They stepped out of their comfort zones, relied on each other, and discovered just how much they could achieve by working together.

It was the shared moments that truly made the trip magical. From the strategy of the scavenger hunts to the laughter around the campfire and the high energy of the camp disco, the boundaries between grades completely melted away.

They returned to ISSH with tired legs, but feeling much taller and filled with newfound independence, deeper friendships and memories that will last a lifetime. 🌲🎒❤️

Behind every graduate is a community of endless love.

On Friday 22nd May, it felt like the first official day of summer, as 15 exceptional graduates celebrated with 200 proud family members, friends and ISSH staff. It was a day filled with pure joy, from the nervous giggles and selfies in the dressing room, to the heartwarming moment when our boarding staff finally met the parents in person.

The ceremony was filled with deep gratitude and nostalgia. Our new Student Ambassadors called the graduates to the stage under a wall of roaring applause, followed by a beautifully personal farewell address from our Head of School, who will always cherish them as "her lovely grade 6." We also welcomed back alumnus Max (Class of 2016) to share inspiring words on resilience, before the Grade 12 homeroom teacher took us on a final, fond trip down memory lane.

Then came the final tassel flip and hat throw! 🎓🎉

To our 15 graduates: As you embark on your next adventure, take curiosity, compassion, and courage with you. Go change the world! We are so incredibly proud of you! ❤️

Caps, gowns, and tassel flips: The Class of 2026 has officially graduated!

We are still riding the emotional high of watching our 15 exceptional graduates take to the stage in front of a proud audience of 200 family members, friends and ISSH staff.

The energy was incredible, from the nervous giggles in the dressing room to the inspiring words of our speakers. Our Head of School was prepared for just how emotional this milestone would be, lightheartedly passing out packs of tissues to the audience before the speeches began!
It was a day filled with laughter, nostalgic tears and the final triumphant tossing of the hats.

📸 The full story is on the way! We are currently gathering the complete collection of photos from the day. Stay tuned for more photos and videos coming to our feed very soon!

To our 15 graduates: Go and change the world, we are so incredibly proud of you!

The boarding house family says a heartfelt goodbye to our DP2 boarders.

The final weeks of May before graduation hold a unique magic. It’s a time for 'last things', such as the final exams, late-night laughter, shared hallway meals and even swimming in the River Rhine.

On Monday, our ISSH boarding staff and students gathered to say a heartwarming goodbye to our graduating DP2 boarders. The setting, surrounded by fresh air and nature, was perfect for pausing to celebrate the incredible journey these students have shared. The afternoon captured the essence of our boarding community perfectly: light-hearted laughter, meaningful connections and a deep sense of family.

With graduation just around the corner, this picnic provided everyone with a wonderful opportunity to slow down and enjoy spending time together during their final week. Gifts were exchanged, stories were shared and more beautiful memories were made.

To our soon-to-be graduates: The boarding house will not be the same without your energy, smiles, and unique spirits. Thank you for making this house a home. We wish you all the best as you embark on your next big adventure! 🎓✨

Hosting Excellence: ISSH welcomed the SGIS Track & Field Competition!

Reflecting on an incredible sporting milestone. On April 30th, Schaffhausen became the hub of international school sports as we proudly hosted the prestigious SGIS Category A & B Track & Field Competition for the first time.

When the usual host, Ecolint, needed someone to step up due to facility renovations, our Head of Activities seized the opportunity. To provide the considerable manpower required for an event of this scale, ISSH joined forces with ISZN as co-hosts, proving that collaboration wins both on and off the field.

We were thrilled to welcome athletes from eight top international schools:
ISZL, TASIS, IST, ISB, ZIS, IS Bern, ISZN and, of course, our very own ISSH.

Congratulations to the ZIS team for their overall victory 🥇 after a day of spectacular performances across all disciplines!

It was a great day for our athletes, too! Special mention goes to our exceptional grade 10 student Katja, who dominated the throwing events. She took first place in the shot put event with an impressive throw of 8.92 metres 🥇 and secured second place in the discus event with an impressive distance of 18.50 metres 🥈. What an outstanding personal achievement!

An event of this magnitude always requires a huge community effort. We would like to thank our Head of Activities for her vision, leadership and organisation in bringing this elite event to Schaffhausen, as well as our Parents' Association, teachers and students for volunteering, providing support and encouragement, and contributing the crucial manpower that ensured the day ran smoothly.

Hosting this event created incredible athletic memories and strengthened our connections within the Swiss Group of International Schools network.

Thank you to everyone who ran, jumped, threw, volunteered and helped to make this debut such a resounding success!
