The classrooms are ready, the lesson plans are in place and our teachers are eager to start the new school year! On Thursday morning, we will welcome our students for the start of the new school year.

Since opening last week, our Early Learning Centre team has already made a great start with our youngest learners. On Thursday, all our staff came together for our 'OneSchool' meeting, followed by a fantastic team-building afternoon on Friday.

This week has been all about thoughtful preparation. Our teachers have organised learning spaces, set up new classes and prepared every detail to welcome their students, while also working in curriculum workshops enhancing teaching and learning at ISSH.

Swipe through to see a few glimpses from our preparation week. We can't wait to see everyone tomorrow!

Designed for students, or designed for the convenience of adults?

When Carla Dabau joined ISSH, she had this very question in mind, which forms the basis of her upcoming book, Designing Intentional Classrooms.

What was her very first mission on campus? Transforming her own Grade 5 classroom into a living case study for inclusive, intentional learning environments.

It wasn't just about aesthetics; it was about reimagining the purpose of learning spaces. By treating the physical room as the 'third teacher', every desk arrangement, seating option, and layout sent an intentional message to her students: You belong here. You are capable. This space is yours.

At ISSH, we believe that our physical environment should be as dynamic and forward-thinking as our IB PYP curriculum. Carla’s Grade 5 classroom was just the beginning, and it has already sparked an inspiring, school-wide conversation about how we design spaces for our students.

Just imagine if our classrooms were designed with the same level of care and intention as our daily lessons.

Meet Carla Dabau, our Grade 5 teacher, learning environment designer and soon-to-be published author!

Her upcoming book, Designing Intentional Classrooms: How to Create Inclusive Learning Environments, is the beautiful result of years of driven curiosity and a simple, powerful question: How can our physical spaces better support our students?

In her book, Carla reveals how educators can transform standard classrooms into intentional, equitable and child-centred spaces where every student feels included and inspired to learn.

At ISSH, we believe that when our educators innovate and share their expertise with the world, our entire community grows. Because when we inspire each other, we all thrive.

Stay tuned for more details on the release coming soon!

The results are in. And they speak for themselves: ISSH's 2026 IBDP results!

We are extremely proud to share the outstanding achievements of our International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) graduates:

- 35 points: our average score (well above the global average of 30.8)
- 43/45 points: our highest individual score achieved
- 60% of our graduates scored 35 points or above, doubling the multi-year global benchmark of 30%

Behind these numbers lie countless hours of hard work, critical thinking, and resilience. It takes courage to tackle the rigorous IB curriculum, and it takes curiosity to push the boundaries of what is possible.

These results are a testament to our philosophy: when exceptional students, dedicated educators and supportive families work together, we all thrive.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026! Your future is incredibly bright, and we cannot wait to see where your journey takes you next.

How can you put the magic of an IB education into words? Just ask our Grade 1 students!

To celebrate the end of their very first year of Primary School, our youngest learners hosted an incredible showcase for the whole school community.

As part of their PYP Unit of Inquiry, 'Sharing the Planet', they explored how nature inspires us to learn about the world. They then transformed that curiosity into a comprehensive, hands-on exhibition.

Through dioramas, diagrams, and written texts, they beautifully demonstrated a core pillar of the IB philosophy: learning doesn't happen in isolation. Reading, writing, research, maths, and science all come to life when you try to understand how a forest works, or why animals live where they do.

The absolute best part? When asked what their favourite part of the project was, the Grade 1s all agreed: working together to create every display.

We are so proud of these blooming global citizens! Swipe to see their hard work in action. ➡️
