The Chilean Studies Diploma at the Universidad de Chile is a unique program designed for foreign residents, diplomats, and expats seeking a deeper understanding of Chile. Taught in English through live online sessions twice a week, it combines academic exploration of the country’s history, society, and culture with a rich program of extracurricular activities, including film screenings, talks, concerts, and in-person experiences such as field visits in Santiago and trips to other regions.
No previous background is required. If you don’t speak Spanish—or don’t feel confident studying in Spanish—this program offers an ideal way to engage with Chile in English. At the same time, those interested in developing their Spanish will find opportunities to practice through extracurricular activities, selected classes, and course projects. Now in its 8th edition, the program has built an international community of learners since 2019, connecting academic insight with real-world experiences. With recorded sessions and scheduled breaks in between June and July, and September, it is designed to fit any lifestyle while offering a meaningful and immersive way to engage with Chile.
Classes start May 15
