CUIB Douala Bootcamp 2026: Senior Students Urged to Transform Business Ideas into Market Reality!!

Senior students at the Catholic University Institute of Buea (CUIB), Bonaberi-Douala Campus, have been challenged to transition from classroom concepts to market-ready ventures. This call to action highlighted the opening of the 2026 Bootcamp, a cornerstone event designed to finalize the students' journey toward becoming job creators.
The first day of the Bootcamp featured a high-profile lineup of industry experts brought in to coach and evaluate the students’ business ventures. The training focused on the practical mechanics of launching a startup in today’s competitive landscape.
Helene MUGOB, CEO and Founder of MAHM Consulting Group, led intensive sessions on the Business Model Canvas and the art of Pitching, ensuring students could communicate their value propositions effectively to potential investors.
Comfort Eneke, CEO of Ets ONEKS, delved into the technicalities of Ideation, Creativity, and Innovation. She emphasized the importance of Prototyping and developing a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) to test the market early.
Mme Ayo Lasisi rounded out the expert coaching by focusing on Brand Design, teaching students how to build a visual and professional identity that resonates with consumers.
The 2026 Bootcamp serves as a critical evaluation of the students’ ability to innovate and add value after four years of rigorous entrepreneurial training. This aligns with CUIB’s unique mission: preparing professional servant leaders who possess the spiritual and moral values necessary to drive sustainable development in their communities.
The event was marked by the presence of Dr. Ngamgoum Eric, Director of the CUIB Douala Campus, who observed the students as they pitched their group business ideas. The coordination of the Bootcamp was led by Miss Ruth Enow and Miss Lipong Christell, the Faculty Coordinator for CERI (Centre for Entrepreneurship, Research, and Innovation) at the Douala Campus.
As the Bootcamp continues, the focus remains clear: transforming academic excellence into tangible economic impact. For these senior students, the message from the experts was unanimous their ideas are no longer just assignments; they are ready for the market.

The Catholic University Institute of Buea (CUIB) is set to ignite a new wave of innovation as its highly anticipated Innovation Boot Camp officially kicks off this Wednesday, January 22, 2026.
The program will run simultaneously across both the Buea and Douala campuses, ensuring that young innovators in both economic hubs have access to the tools needed to build agile, tech-driven ventures.
This boot camp is a cornerstone of CUIB’s identity as The Growth Mindset Entrepreneurial University. Unlike traditional academic programs, this initiative is designed to bridge the gap between classroom theory and community impact.
For the university, this boot camp is the ultimate testing ground for its mission. It transforms students into "job creators" by teaching them to embrace challenges, iterate on their ideas, and develop a market-ready prototype. By fostering this growth mindset, CUIB ensures its community is prepared to solve real problems and drive the national economy forward."

CUIB Commissions 347 Graduates as Innovators and Ethical Leaders

The Catholic University Institute of Buea (CUIB) celebrated its Commencement Ceremony for 347 graduands, marked by a call to ethical leadership, innovation, and global transformation.
The President of CUIB, Rev. Fr. Bartholomew Anyanwu, delivered a powerful charge to the graduating class, urging them to remain bold and innovative as they embark on their professional journeys.
Addressing the assembly, Rev. Fr. Anyanwu emphasized the significance of the term "Commencement" over "Graduation."
"At CUIB, we use the word commencement because today marks not merely what our students have completed, but what they are beginning," he stated. "We are commissioning them to a new level as innovators, builders, and entrepreneurs."
He further noted that while many universities provide quality education, CUIB distinguishes itself by instilling a specific set of values. "CUIB is a mindset and a movement," Anyanwu said. "We produce graduates who do not just sit and complain, but those who are taught how to lead and innovate with faith."
He concluded by enjoining the students to seek solutions to problems, reject mediocrity, and maintain a firm ethical stance against corruption.
Keynote: Thriving in a Disruptive World
The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Mokom Ndi Ndzah, Founder and CEO of Stoneshed Asset Management. His lecture, titled "Thriving in a World that is Competitive, Disruptive, and Uncertain," provided a pragmatic outlook on the future of work.
Mr. Mokom warned the graduates that the world is increasingly impatient. "In three years, much of the technical knowledge you learned in university may become irrelevant," he cautioned. "What will remain are the values you have cultivated."
Key takeaways from his address included:
"While connections may get you a job, it is your skills, competence, and values that will keep you there."
He urged graduates to build high-value skills to "become so good you cannot be ignored" and to foster networks that define their professional trajectory.
"You are not too young to lead. Think like a builder and take ownership, for you are the plan."
Valedictorian Honors and Institutional Appreciation
The Valedictorian, Rita Tamanjon, who earned a First Class degree in Accountancy, expressed profound gratitude for the holistic training provided by CUIB.
"CUIB has given us more than just an education; it has equipped us with the skills to create jobs and adapt to a changing landscape," Tamanjon said. In a gesture of appreciation, she presented the senior class gift to the university on behalf of her peers.
The ceremony also featured the presentation of prizes to students who demonstrated outstanding academic and moral excellence.
Closing the event, the Chancellor and Pro-Chancellor of CUIB, His Lordship Michael Bibi, extended his gratitude to the parents for their trust in the institution. He also commended the faculty and staff for their dedication to empowering students with the tools necessary to thrive in and contribute to society.

Be the Light of CUIB: Chancellor Michael Bibi Charges 12th Graduating Class to Lead with Spiritual Values

The graduating students of the Catholic University Institute of Buea (CUIB) have been called upon to embrace the institution’s core values and trust in God as they transition into the professional world.
The call was made by His Lordship Michael Bibi, Chancellor and Pro-Chancellor of CUIB, during the Eucharistic celebration marking the university’s 12th Commencement Ceremony.
A Sacrifice of Thanksgiving
In his homily, His Lordship Michael Bibi welcomed invited dignitaries and guests, noting that the graduation was first and foremost an opportunity to render gratitude.
"Our celebration of the Eucharist gives us an immense opportunity to thank God for the things He has done in our lives—for the faculty, staff, and students," Bishop Bibi stated. "God has protected us throughout these years, especially the graduating students, and the best way to show our gratitude is through this celebration."
He reminded the 347 graduands that the presence of God ensures success, protection, and happiness, and that the graduation ceremony serves as a formal acknowledgment of those divine blessings.
Honoring Resilience and Remembering the Departed
The Chancellor expressed his profound gratitude to the President of the University, Rev. Fr. Bartholomew Anyanwu, as well as the faculty and staff, for their tireless efforts in guiding the students. He also commended the parents for their sacrifices and for trusting CUIB’s "Growth Mindset Entrepreneurial" model.
In a poignant moment, Bishop Bibi led the congregation in a moment of silence to honor the memory of Ettame Arnold, a B.Tech student who passed away shortly before completing his studies.
Drawing a parallel to the 12 Disciples of Christ, the Bishop noted that as members of the 12th commencement class, the students are called to be messengers of professionalism and the "light" of CUIB.
Addressing their entry into the labor market, he advised:
"Employers look for adaptability, flexibility, and those who work with moral and spiritual values. You have been equipped to be changemakers through bootcamps and entrepreneurial training. As servant leaders, take inspiration from your community and create jobs that contribute to social growth."
Bishop Bibi also cautioned the graduates on their digital footprint, urging them to use social media responsibly. He emphasized that an entrepreneur’s online presence is a direct reflection of their character and professional brand.
In his concluding remarks, he redefined the "Commencement" as a "Commissioning."
"As you leave CUIB, carry with you courage and the spirit of servant leadership. The Lord will give you peace as you begin this great adventure. Remember, you are now professional servant leaders with the spiritual and moral values needed to contribute to the sustainable development of your community."
