We are redefining interdisciplinary education through the Computational Media and Arts (CMA) Thrust:
- New Landmark Program: Launched the Master of Fine Arts in Computational Arts (MFA-CA), the first taught postgraduate (TPG) program in the "Art x Tech" domain at HKUST Guangzhou.
- Future-Focused: The curriculum integrates , virtual reality, and creative coding to prepare students for the global creative industry.

💡 Educational Innovation: Empowering Society
Our expertise extends beyond the classroom to serve both campus and industry:
- AI Productivity: Successfully trained over 300 faculty and staff through three sessions of our "Large Model Productivity Accelerator".
- Knowledge Transfer: Launched "AI Large Model Practical Classes" for industry elites and hosted our first "Future Tech Creative Camp" for high school and undergraduate students.

As we continue our 2025 Annual Review, we are proud to showcase the growth of the Information Hub at HKUST Guangzhou through the recruitment of elite talent, breakthrough research, and strategic partnerships.

🎓 Attracting Talents: Empowering an Elite Platform. We continue to build a world-class faculty matrix to drive global innovation:
- 23 new faculty members joined our Hub in 2025.
- Now home to 25+ International Academy Fellows and 30 scholars in Stanford’s Top 2% Scientists list.
- Dean Lei Chen elected as the first-ever President of the VLDB Endowment from China and an ACM Fellow.
- Key honors were awarded to Prof. Hui Xiong (AAAI Fellow) and Prof. Xiaowen Chu (IEEE Fellow).

🚀 Research Engine: A Leap in Impact. Our research ecosystem fosters both technological and social progress:
- Total funding reached 39.97 Million RMB, a 29.9% year-on-year increase.
- Secured 114 projects, including 23 national-level grants.
- Breakthrough in the National Social Science Fund for Digital Cultural Heritage preservation.
- Undergraduate research projects surged by 294% to 138 active projects.

🤝 Platform Co-construction: Deepening Synergy We are scaling our impact through high-level industry-academia collaboration:
- Established the Kunpeng & Ascend Academic Innovation Incubator.
- Launched Joint Labs with industry leaders like Stellantis and HoneyBot.

As we step into a new year, we’re excited to share highlights from the 2025 Annual Review of the Information Hub, focusing on how we continue to cultivate talent.

- The first cohort of the MSc in Data-Centric AI (DCAI) achieved 100% employment or further study
• 83% entered leading technology and innovation-driven organizations
• 17% pursued PhD studies at top universities
- The first cohort of PhD graduates demonstrated diverse pathways across industry, academia, and entrepreneurship

🏆Academic Excellence
- 850+ peer-reviewed publications in 2025, with strong year-on-year growth
- Research spanning AI, data science, systems, HCI, and computational media
- Ranked first university-wide in the number of best paper awards

🎨 Exhibitions & Creative Practice
- Research-led creative practice driven by the Computational Media and Arts (CMA) Thrust
