The EMBA Delegation from School of Management Fribourg departed Beijing and arrived Hangzhou on the 11th of April, starting a cooperative module at School of Management Zhejiang University.
In an ancient building at Nanhua Garden of Zijingang Campus, the EMBA Delegation received lectures on the Chinese Economic Development & FDI Opportunity and the Innovation for the Good-Enough-Market in China from two professors from Zhejiang University. The lectures helped The delegation understand better not only the changing environments for Foreign Direct Investment in China but also the importance of innovation in the in the process of China’s consumption and market upgrading.
As a part of the module, the EMBA delegation visited Alibaba Group, the world’s largest online and mobile commerce company. At the headquarters of Alibaba, the delegation had an introduction and Q&A session with the project supervisors from Alibaba Global Leadership Academy (AGLA). AGLA is an employee recruitment and training program which seeks to attract top-tier international talent from major markets outside of China for 16 months of training and internship at Alibaba headquarters. The EMBA delegation also got the opportunity to visit Alibaba Museum, where this eCommerce giant displayed their past and present achievements, as well as a blueprint of digital future towards an inclusive globalization.
At Citadines Intime City Hangzhou, the EMBA delegation spent a Networking Evening with students from Global Entrepreneurship Program of Zhejiang University and professionals from Hangzhou’s eCommerce industry. It is an unforgettable experience filled with inspiring conversations in a relaxing setting of the environment. During the event, experts from AliExpess and Ant Financial shared their experiences about working at Alibaba and their insight into China’s eCommerce economy. On the last day in Hangzhou, the EMBA delegation visited the West Lake and the Linyin Temple and was very impressed by the beauty of this city.
