安徽大学（Anhui University），简称安大（AHU），坐落于安徽省省会合肥市 ，学校是国家“211工程”重点建设高校，是国家“双一流”世界一流学科建设高校，入选“卓越法律人才教育培养计划”，是“国家华文教育基地”、“教育部来华留学示范基地”和“中国政府奖学金来华留学生接收院校”，由教育部与安徽省人民政府共建 。
学校部分科系最早可以追溯到1928年4月在安庆创办的、安徽省现代高等教育的开端——国立安徽大学，现安徽大学于1958年以合肥大学、原国立安徽大学部分科系为基础建立，同年9月毛泽东主席亲笔为学校题写校名，沿用至今。
