Following France's National Day celebrations, emlyon business school is proud to announce that it has been awarded the 2026 National Guard Prize in the "Educational Institution" category.

This national distinction recognizes organizations that actively support members of the French National Guard Reserve and contribute to promoting the values of national defense and citizenship throughout society.

emlyon's application was jointly led by Professor Olivier Cateura and Professor Thierry Picq, acting on behalf of the School in their roles as REDS (Defense and Security Education Representatives). The application was also made possible through the commitment of the emlyon Defense Club and Clément Lemonnier.

Following a nationwide selection process, emlyon's candidacy was presented and defended during a final hearing held on May 21, 2026, at the École Militaire in Paris before a jury composed of representatives from the French Armed Forces, public institutions, and academia.

This award recognizes emlyon's longstanding commitment to the values of responsibility, service, and citizenship, as well as its concrete support for faculty, staff, students, and alumni serving in the operational reserve or contributing to missions in the service of the Nation. The jury also highlighted the School's close collaboration with the emlyon Defense Club and the College of Defense Representatives of the Universities and Higher Education Institutions of Lyon–Saint-Étienne (Université de Lyon).

The official award ceremony took place on July 9, 2026, at the Rotonde of the École Militaire in Paris, in the presence of representatives from the French National Guard and the French Ministry of the Armed Forces.

Two emlyon students who also serve as reservists attended the ceremony:

Pierre Delecluse, a student in the MS Juriste Manager International program and a reservist with the French National Gendarmerie;
Saskia Jean, a student in the Programme Grande École and a reservist with the French Navy.

This recognition reflects emlyon's commitment to fostering engaged citizens and supporting members of its community who dedicate themselves to serving both society and the Nation.
