Scholarship for all-English MA program in anthropology at ECNU (Shanghai)
two-year, in English, generous scholarship

Located in Shanghai, East China Normal University (ECNU) is one of the top universities in China. A two-year all-English MA program in anthropology is now available at ECNU. The scholarship for this all-English MA program is from Chinese Government Scholarship and Shanghai Government Scholarship, which can be applied for online. There is no requirement on Chinese language. The deadlines for application are March 31, 2018 (Chinese Government Scholarship: http://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn/ #/register) and April 30, 2018 (Shanghai Government Scholarship: http://www.study-shanghai.org/Scholarship_en.asp). Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and should possess a BA degree in anthropology or another field. The generous scholarship covers tuition fee, accommodation on campus, a comprehensive medical insurance, basic learning materials, besides a monthly living allowance (RMB 3,000 yuan/month). The program consists of four core courses, four optional courses, a 6-month fieldwork, and a MA thesis. The research interests of faculty members cover two areas: socio-cultural anthropology in general and applied anthropology, concentrating particularly on religion, money, economy, food, visual culture, and ethnic minorities in China.
