NYU Shanghai Academic Resource Center - ARC

NYU Shanghai Academic Resource Center - ARC As professional tutors, the Fellows serve as academic mentors, tutors, writing consultants, and study group leaders for undergraduate students.

The Academic Resource Center (ARC) is home to NYU Shanghai’s dedicated team of Global Academic Fellows who provide quality academic support and enrichment to all students. GAFs are available to support students in writing/speaking, business/finance and STEM fields and provide personalized attention and service in the form of academic support and guidance, individualized and/or group-level tutoring

, and review sessions. GAFs are also trained to help students with time management, motivation and study skills, or overcoming other barriers to academic success. Students can schedule an individual session with a GAF or seek support during one of the scheduled drop-in sessions. All students are encouraged to take advantage of the ARC in pursuing a successful and enriching academic year at NYU Shanghai. Location: Academic Building, 5th floor

Two workshops presented by the ARC tomorrow (Nov 2) from 4:45-5:45pm:

POH Writing Workshop (Room 603): This week's workshop will focus on cohesion and coherence in academic writing. We will talk about how to create an organized passage that “hangs together”. Bring your PoH materials-- you'll have an opportunity to practice what you learn and receive individualized feedback!

GPS Writing Workshop (Room 209): This week's workshop will focus on reviewing assignment expectations for your first essay assignment & generating ideas through guided brainstorming activities.

Tackling challenging writing assignments for PoH? Want specialized support for academic writing? Come check out the first PoH Writing Workshop this Thursday in room 603 from 4:45-5:45pm! This week's workshop will focus on sentence structure to add precision and clarity to your writing. Bring your PoH materials-- you'll have an opportunity to practice what you learn and receive individualized feedback!

Ready for your GPS Midterm? Come to our GPS Midterm Review session this Thursday (from 4:45-5:45pm in room 209) to study and prepare! We'll challenge you to review course concepts and make those essential thematic connections between lectures, course readings, and recitations. Bring your GPS notes and readers.
