We are happy to welcome partners of the TASC RestoreMed project from across Europe to Frederick University in Nicosia today.

Funded by , TASC RestoreMed is a flagship initiative under the EU Mission “Restore Our Ocean and Waters by 2030.” The project acts as a catalyst for a more sustainable blue economy in the Mediterranean, bringing together science, innovation, and community action to restore marine and freshwater ecosystems🌊

Costas Kadis, European Commissioner for Fisheries and Oceans, addressed the meeting with a recorded video, highlighting the project's vital role in turning innovative ideas into tangible impact.

Commissioner Kadis noted that TASC RestoreMed goes beyond funding innovative ideas by providing targeted assistance, capacity building, policy and business support, mentoring, and opportunities for collaboration, helping communities and innovators to turn promising initiatives into viable, lasting solutions for the restoration of marine and freshwater ecosystems.

The meeting continues until tomorrow, bringing partners together to exchange knowledge, strengthen collaboration, and advance solutions for healthier ecosystems across the Mediterranean.💙

📣 We are officially reopening and extending our Call for Expressions of Interest for Independent Evaluators for TASC RestoreMed!

Our evaluation schedule has been dynamically adjusted to accommodate the exceptional volume of incoming applications and we are seeking independent, impartial international experts capable of evaluating one or both of our specialized open call tracks:

🔹 Community-Led Actions (CLA) Evaluators: Experts in scaling up and deploying marine/freshwater research and innovation.

🔹 Transition Agenda Development (TAD) Evaluators: Experts in maritime governance, public policy, legal harmonization, and regional legislative roadmaps aligned with EU Mission Ocean and Green Deal targets.

From coastal wetlands to blue innovation, from community action to policy transition plans, TASC RestoreMed is funding initiatives that restore marine and coastal ecosystems across the region.
Who should be reading this carefully?
•⁠ ⁠Local and regional authorities
•⁠ ⁠NGOs and civil society organisations
•⁠ ⁠Universities and research institutions
•⁠ ⁠SMEs active in the environmental or blue economy sectors
•⁠ ⁠Consortia bringing partners together, with at least one Mediterranean-based organisation
If your work creates measurable environmental and social impact in the Mediterranean basin, you may be eligible.
Funding available:
•⁠ ⁠Community-Led Actions: €200K–€1.4M
•⁠ ⁠Transition Agendas: up to €100K
Project duration: up to 24 months
Collaboration is encouraged. Cross-sector partnerships are welcome. Practical, scalable impact is key.
