Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Králové started its educational activities on November 25, 1945 as the first university faculty in East Bohemia. Initially, the Hradec Králové faculty was established as a part of the Prague Faculty of Medicine. Due to their co-operation and assistance it was immediately possible to establish both a high quality teaching staff and an effective departmental structure i

Science and research, Foreign relations. The Faculty of Medicine of Charles University in Hradec Králové provides education for future holders of bachelors, masters, and doctoral degrees in the medical sciences.

On Saturday, 2 May, Adalbertinum was filled with cultures from all around the world. 🌍✨ International students from our faculty and International Student Union (ISU-LFHK) prepared another edition of the popular Culture Day, where they presented more than ten countries through traditional food, customs, clothing and a wonderful atmosphere. 🤩

It was a day full of tasting, meeting and discovering different cultures, as well as a lovely opportunity to spend time together outside the classroom.

Culture Day reminded us that our faculty is not only a place to study medicine, but also a place where people, stories, traditions and friendships from all corners of the world come together.

Thank you to the International Student Union and to all the students who helped make this event happen. ❤️

The Rector’s Sports Day is coming! 🏃‍♂️🚴‍♀️🏐✨

On Wednesday, 13 May, we will meet again for a traditional day full of movement, sports, and good vibes. The programme is prepared by the Department of Physical Education of the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Králové, as well as staff members of the faculty – just pick your activity 💪

Last week we welcomed several important international guests to our faculty. 🌍

We were delighted to once again host Professor Temesgen from the Mayo Clinic, Prof. Isidoro Ciro from the Università del Piemonte Orientale, as well as three colleagues from Addis Ababa University.🤩

These meetings brought valuable exchange of experience, fresh perspectives on teaching and research, and many inspiring discussions that highlight the importance of international collaboration. We truly appreciate the visits and look forward to continuing these connections. ✨

Run for Life is behind us! 🤩 Last week, more than 200 runners took part, and together we raised an amazing CZK 25,248 for little Marek.

From April 23–29, 2026, we’re excited to welcome a special guest to our faculty – Prof. Isidoro Ciro from Università del Piemonte Orientale in Italy 🙌

He’s a leading expert in cancer molecular biology, so there’s definitely something to look forward to. During his visit, he’ll be sharing his expertise through a seminar and a series of lectures for our students and staff.

Last Saturday, 50 first-year students set out on a field trip to the Plastinarium in Guben, Germany. The Department of Anatomy organizes this trip annually as a voluntary supplementary activityto the curriculum.
👀Thanks to the plastination method, the students had the opportunity to see the human body in an exceptionally lifelike form. The exhibition there provides a detailed and vivid look at the structure of the human body, which effectively complements the instruction in the dissection lab and theoretical training. The field trip is also one of the few opportunities for students in both the Czech and English programs to meet outside of class and share a common professional experience.
