Program přednášek Aktuální otázky/Current Issues v zimním semestru 2026/27.

Jakub Havlík a Alena Švitorková z našeho ústavu se vrátili z údolí řeky Vachš, kde navázali spolupráci s Vachšskou archeologickou expedicí (VAE). V rámci výzkumu vedeného Vikentijem Paršutem (Викентий Паршуто) zkoumali antická a středověká sídliště Laghman a Kafirkala a okolní krajinu.
Díky vůbec prvnímu nasazení systematických povrchových sběrů v této oblasti získáváme nový pohled na proměny osídlení od řecko-baktrijského království (3.–2. stol. př. n. l.) až do doby po příchodu Mongolů ve 13.–14. století.
Výzkum probíhá pod záštitou New York University a Národní akademie věd Tádžikistánu s podporou Gerda Henkel Stiftung.

We have just returned from another successful season of the ASkoS - Ancient Skopelos Survey project on Skopelos! Together with our students and the wider international project team, we had a great season combining survey and test trenches (with stunning views), with exciting new finds and plenty to think about. Hard work, discoveries, great teamwork, and so many good memories!!

Already looking forward to the next season! 🤠

New study on Roman period handmade pottery published in collaboration of our institute with British School at Athens, Archaeometry Research Group at the Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen, VŠCHT Praha, Philosophical Faculty of the University of Hradec Králové, Leibniz-Zentrum für Archäologie and the Czech Academy of Science.

At the beginning of June, our Bulgarian team had the pleasure of participating in a conference at the Regional Historical Museum in Sliven dedicated to Veselin Ignatov, whose research has greatly enriched our understanding of the Roman period in Thrace.

Lukáš Charvát and Dorka Mildová presented the results of their bachelor's theses, focusing on burial practices and ritual features in graves from the Yambol District in Bulgaria. Todor Valchev discussed settlement patterns in the region during the Roman period, while Petra Tušlová examined the possible reasons behind the persistence of handmade pottery production into the Roman period. Viktoria Čisťaková was represented by a poster presenting her research on ancient glass. And Terka, she was on holidays 😊.

Společná akce Archeologický ústav AV ČR, Praha a nášho Ústav pro klasickou archeologii, FF UK konaná pod záštitou paní děkanky Filozofická fakulta Univerzity Karlovy se setkala s mimořádním zájmem odborné veřejnosti a prezentovala široký záběr archeologických aktivit v dnešním Turecku spjatých s naší fakultou.
