Prague Art Institute

Prague Art Institute The Prague Art Institute is an intensive summer studio program currently held in the studios of Anglo-American University in Prague.

This summer studio program has been running in cooperation with The Academy of Fine Arts in Prague since 2000. The student will spend seven weeks of intensive research and studio work in the heart of Europe. The program begins with a general orientation to the art of Prague and Central Europe before entering the studios full-time. This general orientation includes approximately a week in Vienna, w

hich is important for appreciating Prague since Vienna was the former capital of the Habsburg Empire of which Bohemia was a part. The studio facilities are located at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. Studios are open five days a week, all day long for the full month of July. The structure of this program is that of an open studio workshop or residency supplemented by lectures, seminars, museum visits, and excursions. There is sufficient time to develop and complete major art work which will then be presented in a public exhibition in Prague.
