Our interests range from seismic interpretation of fault surfaces to fluid inclusions on grain boundaries and from salt structures to the porosity filling minerals in sandstones.

Michael and Christopher wrote a blog article about their fieldwork in Iceland and how that relates to analogue models to understand subsurface structures. Check it out!

In this Minds over Methods we don’t have one, but two scientists talking about their research! Michael Kettermann and Christopher Weismüller, both from Aachen University, explain us about the multidisciplinary approach they use to understand more about massively dilatant faults. How do they form ...

Hallo zusammen,
Stock Raum 314.
Michael

We have two seminars in our NUGGED seminar series this week! Drop by on Wednesday 12:00 to hear a talk by Daniel Bücken about the effect of mechanical stratigraphy on normal fault evolution. On Thursday 14:00 Albert Riehm will present his work on agglomeration of iron ore green pellets and mechanical properties.
The talks will be in room 408 (Lochnerstraße 4-20, Haus A, 4th floor) and they are open for all brown-bag seminars, so invite your friends and bring your lunch!

Check out some of our photos we took in Iceland while looking for dilatant faults and fractures!
