In today’s workshop Moe Mernick shared personal stories about his relationship with G-d.
His book “The Gift of Stuttering” deals with viewing challenges in life as a potential for growing.
Not only did our students receive interesting insights on personal development but also on G-ds role in our lives.
We are thankful for his time and for inspiring us.

We had the pleasure to meet with Marat Schalafstein the head of the department of youth and communities. He gave us an insight on what the role of the “Zentralrat der Juden” organization in Germany. We were inspired by the impact they have in Jewish German life. The JAcademy students were able to learn about different projects that are under the Zentralrat umbrella, such us Mishpacha, Jewrovision and Shalom Aleikum. We are grateful for their welcoming, warm reception and for their time. The JAcademy students left feeling more connected with their German-Jewish community and with the desire to engage with the Jewish life in their respective communities.

“Déportés - Leur Ultime Transmission“ event

Thanks to the connections one of our JAcademy students made in her internship, we were able to participate in this moving event. The Holocaust survivors Leon Weintraub and Judith Elkán-Hervé shared their story about the invasion of their countries by the N***s and how this drastically shifted their life. The moderators were intentionally selected to be the same age as the survivors at the time of their deportation.

The Shoah Survivors came all over from Sweden and France to be able to share and pass on their story to the future generations so that they can carry it on and keep it alive.

Our students purchased their books and had them signed by the survivors.

Finally, the students met with the French ambassador and he took questions from our students.

This magnificent exhibition „Yad Vashem“ in the Bundestag gives the opportunity to send postcards with a picture of the objects presented.

Our students sent these cards to different addresses all over the world. Spreading the message and the importance of this exhibition overseas. It was moving to see how so many objects that survived WW2 where able to return in perfect shape to Germany. It represents in a way the circle of life, how everything comes back to us. It shows how a simple object can carry so much history and emotions. The JAcademy students got the opportunity to connect with the history of these objects and express their thoughts about this matter.

Our program includes topics such as Jewish Personalities, Ethics, and Modernity as we strongly believe that Judaism offers tremendous wisdom for a successful life and career.

The expectations for such internships are often similar to those of entry-level jobs. One needs to have the know-how, the ability to work well with a team and have a good, well-established professional network. Many aspiring professionals become frustrated: If one needs to have already had a good internship -- just to get an internship, how is one supposed to get his/her foot in the door at the workplace? And how can one acquire the necessary skills?
