The project Music Speaks brings students from the Barenboim-Said Akademie together with children from Berlin's Willkommensklassen to discover and make music. With this video series, we're bringing that spirit further — to kids (and adults!) wherever they are.

Akademie Forum is back next week! On Monday we welcome award-winning radio producer, writer, and host Aaron Cohen to the Akademie Forum for a talk on storytelling and Gustav Mahler’s music.

In his lecture, Cohen takes us behind the scenes of his acclaimed podcast series “Embrace Everything—The World of Gustav Mahler”, using audio excerpts to reveal how music, narration, and history come together to tell the story of Mahler’s work.

Starting with the Winter Semester 2026/27, Jacob Eder assumes the role of Rector and Roni Mann the role of Vice-Rector of the Barenboim-Said Akademie.

Congratulations to all our students and alumni who are on tour with the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra and Maestro Daniel Barenboim! 👏👏👏

Our first concert ever at Het Concertgebouw Amsterdam... and in the Netherlands!

After yesterday's concert with Maestro Daniel Barenboim at the legendary hall in Amsterdam, we passed the halfway point of the tour. Next stops: Vienna, Hamburg and Rolle.

Discover the West-Eastern Divan Festival! We're excited to be part of its inaugural edition this coming November!

🔔A new festival presented by the Daniel Barenboim Stiftung | Berlin, November 11–18, 2026

For more than 25 years, the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra has brought its message of dialogue and understanding to countries around the world. Over time, the foundational idea kept expanding and taking on new identities.

The Daniel Barenboim Stiftung in Berlin and the Fundación Barenboim-Said in Seville have since been joined by the Barenboim-Said for Music in Ramallah, Berlin’s Barenboim-Said Akademie, and the Pierre Boulez Saal, which opened in 2017.

This year’s inaugural West-Eastern Divan Festival brings all of these institutions together—and makes them part of the diverse cultural landscape of Berlin. For one week, internationally renowned artists who have long been closely associated with the individual projects and their missions are joined by students and acclaimed guests to present ten concerts at different venues across the city.
