Dream of the Autumn Leaves
by Stefan Matthias

The leaves are changing color.
Green turns to red and brown.

The wind blows, and they swirl through the air.
For a moment, they fly.

In the cold of winter, they begin to decay.
The stored warmth of the sun escapes.

In a dream, these leaves can dream.

Every release in the Qualia Series is an invitation to listen deeply.
The sound of Qualia moves away from traditional music-making to let unexpected sonic worlds emerge.

While anchored in ambient and drone traditions, the soundscape isn't merely static, but it unfolds as a narrative journey.

For the last couple of years, the early titles of the DiN label have had monthly promotions where they have been set up as a free-to-download/name-your-price album. Thus, now Conundrum (DiN27) by Klaus Hoffmann-Hoock & Bernhard Wöstheinrich is available in this format until the end of October.

Conundrum is a collaboration that merges space guitar and sitar with rich synthesiser antics. This DiN release features glissando melodies, sequencing loops and deep ambient soundscapes.

UPCOMING LISTENING PARTIES

Sand Chapel by Volker Lankow
September 25, 2026 at 9:00 PM GMT+2 / 3:00 PM EDT

Across six pieces, this album merges the drone, modal restraint, and devotional pacing of medieval sacred music with granular, weathered textures — bowed tones, breath, resonant metal, and slow-shifting drift. The result sits somewhere between ambient, drone, and neo-medieval composition: patient, and built for deep listening rather than background sound.

Ancestral Circuits by Volker Lankow
September 26, 2026 at 8:00 PM GMT+2 / 2:00 PM EDT

„Ancestral Circuits" is a global collection/compilation of traditional sounds reimagined through modern production; folk instrumentation, ritual rhythms, and vocal textures from across the world, filtered through electronic soundscapes and studio experimentation. Compiled over 8 years, this is music built at the intersection of memory and machine: roots that haven't been erased, just rewired.

Materiaal 083 - Studio Session 20260822 by Bernhard Wöstheinrich
September 29, 2026 at 9:00 PM GMT+2 / 3:00 PM EDT

Let’s listen together to this studio performance, recorded live in a single take, with zero overdubs or pre-recorded parts, on August 22, 2025, in Berlin-Kreuzberg.

The music is accompanied by a short story about an alpine vegetable climber striving to reach the nearly unreachable summit of a remote German turnip head. Along the way, he faces untold perils.
