The finance faculty is part of the School of Business and Economics at Humboldt University and currently consits of Tim Adam (Professor), Tobias Berg (Assistant Professor), Hermann Elendner (Assistant Professor), Markus Hochradl (Assistant Professor), Rainer Saupe, and Alex Stomper (Professor)

Current research topics include corporate risk management and capital structure policy, risk-sharing between firms' financial and non-financial stakeholders, the pricing of risky assets, mutual funds, and credit rating agencies.
