Thanks to EIT Urban Mobility EIT Urban Mobility - Urban Mobility Explained (UMX), our SuMo MBA students had the opportunity to visit Italiacamp during this year’s excursion to Rome! 🇮🇹✨

Italiacamp is an impact organization that connects companies, institutions, universities, and communities to promote innovation and social impact. 🌍💡

Our students enjoyed an insightful presentation by the ItaliaCamp team, gaining valuable perspectives on:
🚆 The city of Rome & local innovation ecosystems
🌱 How cross-sector collaboration drives positive change
🤝 Real-world impacts on sustainable mobility

Ciao Roma!

The SuMo cohort has officially landed! We traded the classroom for the historic streets of Rome for our annual study excursion.

Over the next few days, we’ll be diving into site visits, meeting local mobility experts, and exploring how the Italian capital moves.

Sun, snacks, and sustainable vibes! ☀️🥨

Last Sunday, April 26th, the Sustainable Mobility MBA (SuMo) crew from TU Berlin hosted an epic potluck at Tempelhofer Feld! It wasn’t just us—students from other MBAs of TU Berlin joined in for a day of great food and even better company.

From home-cooked treats (shoutout to the tiramisu, Chicken Curry and Salads!) to high-energy games of frisbee, football, and even some ping pong, the energy was unmatched. We even had a musical interlude under the trees and some quality time with our favorite furry guest! 🐕🎸

Berlin is officially in bloom, and with summer just around the corner, there’s no better place to spend a weekend evening than the Feld. 🌸🌳

A glimpse into the future with the SuMo cohort! 🚀✨

We spent the day at diving into the “what ifs” of tomorrow. It wasn’t just a walk-through—it was a hands-on exploration of how our cities might look, move, and breathe in the coming decades.

From testing out interactive city-planning models to tackling resource challenges (check out that massive wooden marble run! 🪵🏀), the energy was all about curiosity.

While we explored, we kept three big questions in mind:

🌍 How could these radical ideas change our society?
🚲 How will they reshape the way we move?
🌱 What’s the real contribution to a more sustainable world?

Seeing the students engage with these future scenarios is a reminder that the “future” isn’t just something that happens—it’s something we’re actively designing. 🔍🏙️

Our students recently had a fantastic time attending the first Energetic Aperitivo hosted by Schneider Electric at the EUREF-Campus Berlin ! 🍸✨

The event was a vibrant hub for networking, bringing together our MBA community of and industry partners in a relaxed atmosphere. It was the perfect space for inspiring conversations and cross-disciplinary exchange over light refreshments.

By sharing ideas on energy innovation and sustainable solutions, we continue to strengthen the vital link between academia and the professionals shaping the future of energy.

Destination: Leipzig! 🇩🇪 Our MBA Sustainable Mobility cohort got a hands-on, end-to-end masterclass in public transport operations with Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe (LVB). 🚋

We jumped right into the complexities of urban mobility:

• Strategy: Deep dives into infrastructure and asset management strategies. 📊
• Infrastructure: On-site inspection of active tram rail reconfiguration and bridge maintenance challenges. 🚧
• Operation: Taking the controls ourselves (by our talented )in the Tram Driving Simulator! Learning safety protocols and the immense responsibility of public transit operators. 🕹️

Exploring Berlin on two wheels! 🚴‍♂️

There’s no better classroom than the city itself. Our MBA Sustainable Mobility students got to put theory into practice during their “Mobility Basics Excursion,” a 10 km cycling tour through Berlin.

Led by our very own alumnus Alexander Czeh, the group experienced the city’s diverse cycling infrastructure firsthand—from protected bike lanes and shared spaces to full-on bicycle streets (‘Fahrradstraßen’). The goal? To critically assess how urban design impacts the safety, comfort, and appeal of cycling.

The ride wrapped up in the vibrant Graefekiez, with students sharing valuable insights and discussing useful cycling apps.

A massive thank you to Alexander for guiding this fantastic real-world lesson and to GreenPATH commuting for supporting our mission to promote active, sustainable mobility! 🌿

🚀 What a start to the Winter Semester 2025/26! A huge and heartfelt welcome to the new cohort of our MBA in Sustainable Mobility Management.

Last week was an unforgettable orientation, packed with learning, connection, and fun. Together with students from the Energy Management and Building Sustainability programs, our new intake kicked things off at the innovative , a living lab for the future of energy and mobility. 💡

From a campus tour and inspiring talks by our industry partners (Thank you , Convex Energy, SPIE, (KONE, E.ON & Wilo!) to team-building icebreakers and a campus treasure hunt, the energy was incredible. The week culminated in a formal welcome from the Dean at TU Berlin’s historic main building, officially kicking off this academic journey.

But the best part? Seeing this brilliant group of students from 19 countries come together, united by a passion to shape a more sustainable world. Your enthusiasm is contagious, and we can’t wait to see the impact you’ll make.

Here’s to a semester of collaboration, innovation, and driving change in mobility! 🌍🚴‍♂️
