"Siddhartha - Eine Bildergeschichte" bereichert in dieser Woche unser Foyer.
Die Ausstellung zeigt eine Auswahl von elf Fotografien, die von Auszügen aus Hermann Hesses Roman Siddhartha begleitet werden. Der Erzählung handelt von der Suche nach Erleuchtung, Liebe und Weisheit, aber vorrangig von der Suche selbst.
Hermann Hesse hat zeit seines Lebens Indien nie bereist und seine "indische Dichtung" wurde vornehmlich von seinen Reiseerfahrungen auf Sri Lanka inspiriert.

Die ausgestellten Fotografien wurden 2012 von Sharon Nathan in Sri Lanka aufgenommen. Er studiert Kunstgeschichte sowie deutsche Sprache und Literatur an der Universität zu Köln und arbeitet als freiberuflicher Fotograf.

Darauf haben wir lange gewartet: Kommende Woche ist an unserer Uni südasiatische International Week. Von Montag bis Freitag könnt ihr in die wunderschöne Vielfalt Bangladeschs, Nepals, Pakistans, Sri Lankas und Indiens eintauchen. Das Highlight wird der Länderabend mit einem Kulturprogramm und traditionellen Abendessen am Dienstag sein. Außerdem wird es eine Fotoausstellung, einen Bollywood-Workshop, einen Yoga-Workshop und einen Henna-Abend geben.

And it’s time: the south Asian international week will be taking place between 16th and 20th July. During the week you can experience the great diversity of Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and India. The highlight is the “Länderabend” with a cultural evening and traditional food on Tuesday. There will also be a Photo exhibition, a yoga workshop, a Bollywood workshop and a Henna evening.
