As part of the lecture series celebrating 125 years of Cologne’s Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. Marita Jacob will explore social inequalities in access to higher education and discuss how educational opportunities can be improved. 📚✨
Marita Jacob is Professor of Sociology at the University of Cologne and one of Germany’s leading researchers on social inequality, education and life course research. Her work focuses on educational opportunities, social mobility and unequal access to higher education.
In her lecture “Who studies — and who doesn’t? Sociological research on educational opportunities and how to improve them”, she will shed light on the mechanisms behind unequal access to university education and present research-based approaches to creating more equal opportunities in the education system. 💡
