Anatolii Kotov and Ilija Vukorep have contributed to "The Routledge Companion to Artificial Intelligence in Architecture" with the chapter "Machine Learning in Architecture: An Overview of Existing Tools". It focuses on the review of available software concepts and approaches available for practical use. Following the last year event which was really entertaining and educational, we are pleased to announce the second edition of the AIAAF symposium (AI-Aided Architectural Fabrication). The idea for AIAAF is to meet with researchers, manufacturers, architects, engineers, etc. to showcase the works, discuss the existing research problems and potentially form some partnerships. While we do keep the event open to the public, we intend to keep the talks technical and academia-oriented.
This year a workshop (intro to ML for the AEC) will accompany the symposium, covering some of the above-mentioned topics in the morning, form with details below.

There are four goals for the Symposium:

1. Showcase the projects which are using fabrication aided by AI
2. Discuss outstanding robotic fabrication projects
3. Get familiar with the cutting edge simulation, modeling and learning methods

We're announcing the summer semester projects and courses run by our Chair.

MASS HOUSING
This project will attempt to develop a modular building system for Mass Housing. According to the latest studies and reports, a range of EU countries including Germany, Poland, Bulgaria or Denmark is experiencing a shortfall of housing in major cities. This deficiency translates to the hyperinflation of housing costs, heavily reducing the citizens’ life standards.
In this course, students will be divided into research groups - each with the same task, yet different tools to solve them. The rivalry between the groups will be evaluated with different mini-competitions.

GH COURSE
An introductory course into Grasshopper, both for Bachelor as well as Master students. In this course, the attendees will learn about various geometry types, data structures and Grasshopper interface.

CNC COURSE
Completing this course will enable the students to operate the CNC router in our lab (CNC-Labor LG2C R.311). The number of seats is limited to 5.
