Electric mobility is becoming more affordable just as Europe’s charging network is expanding at a record pace. 🚗

According to a joint study by Fraunhofer ISI and the The International Council on Clean Transportation, electric vehicle prices in Germany fell by 18% in real terms between 2020 and 2025. Over the same period, the number of public charging points across the EU increased fivefold.

This combination is crucial. Lower vehicle prices can accelerate demand, but e-mobility will only scale if charging infrastructure is reliable, accessible and available wherever people and businesses need it.

The next step is intelligent integration. Charging solutions must connect mobility with renewable electricity and be tailored to the needs of companies and fleet operators. This is where VSB brings its expertise in practical, integrated energy solutions. 🔋

What matters most to you when it comes to e-mobility: price, range or charging availability?

With the contract now signed, the next important milestone has been reached: a ground-mounted photovoltaic system with a capacity of around 8 MWp will be built at the thyssenkrupp Rasselstein packaging steel site in Andernach, part of thyssenkrupp Steel.

Under a long-term on-site PPA, VSB Integrated Energy Solutions will finance, plan, build and operate the system. The project at a glance:
☀️ around 12,000 solar modules
📍 5.2 hectares
⚡ around 8 gigawatt-hours of solar power per year from mid-2027
🏭 all electricity generated will be used directly on site

For thyssenkrupp Rasselstein, this means renewable electricity generated on its own premises, reduced grid consumption and greater long-term predictability of energy costs – without having to invest in the system itself.

“With the project in Andernach, thyssenkrupp Rasselstein is demonstrating the potential of renewable energy directly at an industrial site. As the delivery partner, we are taking responsibility for the planning, financing, construction and operation of the system, creating a reliable solution that provides long-term planning certainty,” explains Frederic Wagner, Managing Director of VSB Integrated Energy Solutions GmbH.

The project shows how decarbonisation and a commercially predictable energy supply can be combined at an industrial site.

What makes a solar project truly fit for the future?

Not the number of megawatts alone. But the question of how it fits into an energy system: into grids, land use, storage, industrial processes and regional value creation.

This is exactly what we will be discussing from today at Intersolar Europe 2026 in Munich. 🌞

📅 23–25 June 2026
📍 Munich Trade Fair Centre, Stand A4.171

At VSB, we are bringing projects that show just how differently photovoltaics can be approached across Europe:
☀️ Löberitz, Germany: PV close to the A9 motorway, around 20 MWp, combined with a neighbouring wind farm and, in future, battery storage
🔋 Brzezinka, Poland: our project shown in the image – with 303 MWp of solar capacity plus 106 MW of battery storage
🌱 Francofonte, Italy: 36 MWp PV in Sicily – approved and ready for the next step

From PPAs and BESS to charging infrastructure and integrated energy concepts for industry and commerce: we look forward to discussing how renewable energies can become more predictable, economical and effective.

Let’s talk about energy that makes change economically viable.

🌬️ Global Wind Day: Celebrating 30 Years of Wind Energy at VSB

On Global Wind Day, we turn our attention to a technology that plays a vital role in driving the energy transition worldwide.

For VSB, wind energy has been a central part of our work since the company was founded – and in our anniversary year 2026, we look back on this journey with particular pride. What began in 1996 as a two-person engineering firm soon became pioneering work: in 1997, we installed our first five wind turbines in Germany.

Three decades later, wind energy remains at the heart of what we do. Today, VSB supports renewable energy projects across the entire lifecycle – from development and construction to long-term operation. Our expertise includes repowering, hybrid parks, tailored PPAs, customized energy solutions, and the technical and commercial management of wind, solar, and storage assets.

The global growth of wind energy shows how far we’ve come as an industry:
🌍 One of the most cost-effective energy sources worldwide
⚙️ More than 1.3 TW of installed capacity globally
📈 2025 was a record year with 165 GW of new installationsa
⚡ Around 20% of Europe’s electricity is generated by wind

Global Wind Day, an initiative by WindEurope and the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC), is an opportunity to highlight the power of wind energy and reflect on the progress of our industry.

Today, we at VSB look back with pride – and ahead with determination to continue driving the energy transition. 🚀

In 1997, our first wind farm went online: Augustusberg in Saxony, Germany. Three Vestas V44 turbines. 1.8 MW of total capacity. Green electricity for around 900 households every year. ⚡🌬️

Today, that may sound small.
Back then, it was a statement.

Wind energy was still at the very beginning. A lot had to be explained, planned, permitted, financed – and made possible in the first place. That is why Augustusberg was more than our first project. It was the moment an idea became reality.

30 years later, VSB develops and operates wind and photovoltaic parks as well as battery storage systems across Europe – with a clear focus on not only generating renewable energy, but integrating it more effectively: through repowering, hybrid parks, storage solutions and PPAs.

The first turbines became experience.
And that experience is shaping the next chapter.

Our motto “One Team, One Goal” extends beyond our commitment to a green energy future it also comes to life through shared experiences like this.

📢 A big shout-out to our VSB Poland team: around 50 highly motivated colleagues took part in this year’s Tour de Wind demonstrating true team spirit on and off the track. Whether tackling the 60 km or 100 km route along the scenic Baltic Sea coastline near Grzybowo, their energy, fairness, and dedication stood out.

We are especially proud that the VSB team claimed victory in the women’s category over the 100 km distance. A fantastic achievement and a great example of passion, endurance, and teamwork in action. This is exactly the spirit that drives us at VSB, both in our projects and beyond.

Under the motto “Riding with the Wind,” the event brought together industry peers in a unique way, combining sport, sustainability, and community. Beyond the sporting challenge, the event also supported a charitable initiative for the West Pomeranian Hospice for Children and Adults Foundation an engagement we were honoured to contribute to. 🫶

We are already excited for the next Tour de Wind edition in 2027 and can’t wait to ride together again! 🚴‍♂️
