What if being transparent about AI actually changes the way we use it? 🔍 As generative AI becomes increasingly embedded in creative work, transparency is becoming an important issue for businesses, policymakers, and professionals alike. GBS lecturer Prof. Dr. Kevin Bauer and his co-authors recently published a study in Information Systems Research exploring what happens when people know that their use of AI will be disclosed. The findings reveal an unexpected behavioral effect, raising important questions about how transparency requirements may shape the way people collaborate with AI. For organizations, this leads to a broader question: How can we design AI transparency in a way that informs people without unintentionally changing how they work with AI?
