Aleksandra Zawistowska is an artist and designer holding Master’s degrees in both Art and Architecture, with studies across Warsaw, Lisbon, and Amsterdam. Her practice centers on hand-blown glass, questioning the physical properties of materials and what beauty can mean when pushed to its limits.
Founder of SZKŁO /shkwo/ , established during her time at Sandberg Instituut, Aleksandra works fluidly across mediums, techniques, and scales. Drawing from nature, geology, and the built environment, her work merges science, culture, and something harder to define. Her practice takes her across Europe, engaging with workshops and expanding her process through making.
She has been listed among AD100 by Architectural Digest and Dwell24’s Best Emerging Designers, was a finalist of the Kunszt Program by Starak Family Foundation, an UrbanGlass scholarship-holder, and Artist-in-Residence at both the Baltic Gallery of Contemporary Art and the Arctic Circle Expedition in Svalbard. Her work has been published widely and exhibited in private galleries and public institutions internationally.
As part of our Design Talk program, we are honored to host Aleksandra Zawistowska, who will discuss her practice, her material research, and the thinking behind Szkło Studio.
Join us for the Design Talk with Aleksandra Zawistowska on Wednesday, June 17th, at 6 PM. Link in bio! #✨
