The Goethe Welcome Centre and the International Study Center (ISZ) at Goethe University Frankfurt offer free German language and conversation courses for international doctoral candidates.

📘 Language courses

A1.1 (no prior knowledge): Mondays, 8:00–11:00, Campus Westend
A1.2 (follow-up to A1.1): Fridays, 18:00–20:00, Campus Westend
B1 (follow-up to A2): 16:00–18:15, Campus Westend, partly online
B2 (book course, follow-up to B1): Fridays, 14:00–17:00, Campus Westend

🗣️ Conversation courses

A1.1: Wednesdays, 8:00–10:00 (only together with the A1.1 language course)
A1.2: 17:30–19:00 (only together with the A1.2 language course)
B1: Tuesdays, 18:00–19:30
B2/C1: Mondays, 9:30–11:45 (requires at least B2 level)
Reading and Discussion B2: Tuesdays, 16:00–19:00 (requires the other German course)

The Goethe Welcome Centre (GWC) is kicking off the winter term with its Online Orientation Event for all newly arriving international researchers and PhD candidates. 🌍

You'll get an essential introduction to the university's administrative structure and its various units, exactly what you need to find your way around during your first weeks (and to survive German bureaucracy a little more easily 😅).
