How does international collaboration shape the way we teach and learn?

As part of the project 'International Mobility with Partners Abroad for Culturally Competent Teachers', Dr. Erdal Kaçar from in Türkiye spent a week teaching at JLU Giessen, exploring how global perspectives can enrich teacher education.

In our short interview, he shares his motivation to come to JLU, what he focused on in his classes, and what he is taking back home from this exchange.Together, IMPACCT and EUPeace foster international learning experiences that prepare future teachers for diverse classrooms.

🌍 Dr Aliya Assubayeva takes us on her research journey around the globe.

The Kazakh former postdoctoral researcher at the Centre for International Development and Environmental Research (ZEU) at JLU talks about her time at the university, her milestones in the DAAD-funded international SDGnexus network and the people who accompanied her along the way.

From water security to environmental policy – her experiences show how international cooperation opens up new perspectives and connects research across borders.

Die kasachische ehemalige Postdoktorandin am Zentrum für Internationale Entwicklungs- und Umweltforschung (ZEU) der JLU erzählt von ihrer Zeit an der Universität, ihren Stationen im internationalen DAAD-geförderten SDGnexus-Netzwerk und den Menschen, die sie dabei begleitet haben.

Von Wassersicherheit bis Umweltpolitik - ihre Erfahrungen zeigen, wie internationale Zusammenarbeit neue Perspektiven eröffnet und Forschung über Grenzen hinweg verbindet.

Antonia, Valerie and Gretel from our German partner schools in Colombia just started their studies at JLU. Welcome! Within the DAAD-funded project „JU and You: Cooperation with partner schools worldwide“, they receive a partial scholarship for the start of their studies. 💶🎓

The three first-semester students in Biology, Romance Studies and Food Chemistry have prepared thoroughly to study fully in German. Despite the colder weather, they are settling well in Giessen and are getting to know the city and the university together. 🏰🏘️
