As part of the General Management Master (M.A.) at SIBE, Ana Damnjanovi explores “The Importance of Emotional Intelligence on Leadership and Decision-Making” and highlights why successful leadership requires more than traditional intelligence alone. Her project focuses on how emotional intelligence influences decision-making in complex business environments and why empathy, self-awareness, and communication are becoming essential leadership skills in today’s organizations.

At SIBE, students in the General Management Master combine academic knowledge with real business challenges, connecting theory directly with practical impact.

At our next SIBE Alumni Talk, SIBE alumnus Marcus Sultzer, Executive Board Member and Chief Revenue Officer at EQS Group, shares the story behind the company’s international growth.

When Marcus joined EQS Group in 2007, the company had around 35 employees, approximately €5 million in revenue and operated exclusively in Germany. Today, EQS has 14 offices worldwide, around 600 employees and generates approximately €120 million in revenue.

Björn Metzger, an international student from Namibia currently living and working in Germany, explores exactly this question as part of his studies in the General Management Master (GMM) at SIBE.

His project focuses on integrating secure AI technologies into laboratory devices and workflows to create intelligent and practical solutions for modern laboratory environments.

The GMM combines academic learning with practical application and international perspectives — enabling students to directly connect management knowledge with real innovation challenges.

SIBE Founder Story: Bridging the Gap in Access to Psychotherapy

We love celebrating the entrepreneurial achievements within our SIBE community! Our MBA student Paul-Johann Raudzus has founded einfachTherapie.de, a platform connecting people seeking psychotherapy with licensed psychotherapists offering available appointments via video sessions.

In Germany, several months can pass between the need for psychotherapy and an available treatment slot. At the same time, licensed psychotherapists may still have capacity for privately billed sessions. einfachTherapie.de was created to bridge exactly this gap.

The platform makes access to psychotherapy simpler and more flexible:
• Direct booking: Privately insured patients and self-paying clients can select psychotherapists based on treatment approach and available appointments and book directly.
• Location-independent access: Sessions take place via video, making geographical distance less relevant and improving access especially for people living in rural areas.
• Clear responsibilities: einfachTherapie.de facilitates access to available appointments, while treatment and billing remain entirely with the respective psychotherapists.

Paul-Johann combines his background as a psychologist (M.Sc.) with experience in software development. From the initial concept to the development and ongoing operation of the platform, he has built einfachTherapie.de independently.

As he puts it:
“There are often months between the need for therapy and an available appointment. I wanted to close exactly this gap—with what I know best: psychology and software.”
