Are you based in Berlin or the surrounding area? Then join us on Wednesday at the 5th Berlin Networking Event on the topic of human 3D organ models organized by Einstein Center 3R and Charité 3R - part of - Universitätsmedizin Berlin.

We’ll be showcasing our DynamicOrgan® System, our open organ-on-chip platform, and discussing how it supports more predictive, human-relevant research in areas such as drug development, disease modeling, and safety testing. By enabling more translational insights, our technology helps reduce reliance on animal models in accordance with the 3R principles.

Our Field Application Specialist, Martyn Steiger, will be there to answer questions, discuss use cases, and explore how our solutions can support your research.

Interested in learning more about our technology? Join Marty at our booth and discuss potential applications together.🤝

How do we achieve reproducible & stable TEER measurements in organ models?

1️⃣ We use fixed, planar electrodes to ensure consistent positioning and reliable readings inside our biochips.

2️⃣ The system can be operated inside the incubator to minimize temperature variations. With wireless transmission, read-outs can be monitored outside via a computer.

Making Oxygen Visible in In Vitro Systems

Oxygen conditions inside organ on chip models were long considered a “black box.” Invasive probes disrupted microfluidics, while media sampling changed the gradients researchers wanted to study.

Modern oxygen sensing technologies such as integrated, non-invasive optical sensors now make it possible to monitor oxygen continuously under perfusion.

Why does this matter?

1. Reveals real time oxygen consumption
2. Distinguishes drug effects from culture artifacts
3. Helps maintain physiologically relevant conditions
4. Supports long term studies in oncology, respiratory models, gut microbiome research & more

As organ on chip technology matures, controlling oxygen levels is no longer optional, it’s a core biological parameter.

How can we build more predictive and human-relevant in vitro models for disease and cancer research?
We are excited to present our latest work in cancer-on-chip modeling and tissue barrier analysis at MPS World Summit.

From non-invasive monitoring of intestinal barrier integrity to recreating the complex pancreatic tumor microenvironment with immune cell modulation, our posters highlight innovative in vitro platforms designed to improve disease modeling, drug evaluation, and translational research.

Come visit our posters and connect with us today:

📍Poster #336: A non-invasive plug&play TEER system for real-time monitoring of cellular barrier dynamics in a 3D intestine-on-chip model (Japhette Kembou-Ringert, presented by Amélie Paillereau, 9:30 – 11:00 AM EDT)

Here we introduce a scalable and reproducible platform for real-time assessment of tissue barrier integrity with temporal resolution — enabling deeper insights into physiological and pathological processes without invasive handling.

📍 Poster #369: A dynamic micro-vascularized organ-on-chip model of pancreatic cancer reveals T cell exclusion and modulation (Thomas Sommermann, 3:15 – 4:45 PM), in collaboration with Alina Deipenbrock and Nicole Teusch from Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf

Here we present our PDAC-on-chip model, recreating the tumor microenvironment and complex crosstalk between the tumor and its surrounding stroma. This platform provides a powerful tool for preclinical drug candidate evaluation while supporting alternatives to animal testing.

Looking forward to connect and exchange ideas on your organ-on-chip applications.

Did you ever wonder how much oxygen cells are actually exposed to inside organ-on-chip models?
Oxygen plays a key role in metabolism, immune responses & disease progression — but it is also highly dynamic and difficult to monitor in real time.

Together with GmbH, we have developed the first fully integrated organ-on-chip technology with non-invasive real-time oxygen measurement.

Want to see our oxygen sensor technology in action? At MPS World Summit we are hosting a live demo of our DynamicOrgan® O₂-Sensor System.

☕ The demo will take place daily during coffee breaks and poster sessions.

Come by at booth 515/517 to discuss your questions with our experts Japhette Kembou-Ringert, Thomas Sommermann, Martin Raasch, Nadia Savelyeva (Axonlab) and Stefanie Fuchs (PyroScience) — and while stopping by, pick up a limited event bag. 🛍️

How do you truly understand tissue dynamics in organ-on-chip systems without real-time data?

At MPS World Summit we are hosting an educational workshop exploring how integrated live readouts enable continuous monitoring of tissue function over time. This allows monitoring how tissues develop, respond, deteriorate, or recover – all within the same experiment.

The workshop focuses on two key real-time, non-invasive readouts: TEER and oxygen measurements. Participants will learn how these methods are used to assess barrier integrity and tissue fitness in organ-on-chip models, and gain practical experience with the Dynamic42 biochips, including:
• biochip handling
• cell seeding
• perfusion setup
• performing TEER and oxygen readouts.

Intersted in learning how live monitoring can enhance your organ-on-chip workflows? Joint Japhette Kembou-Ringert and Thomas Sommermann to discuss your use cases and questions.
