🔹Countertechnique
The Countertechnique® class is a contemporary dance technique class. It stretches, coordinates and strengthens the body, making the dancer sweat, build stamina and really move. The class starts with a recurring set of exercises, allowing dancers to investigate the Countertechnique® principles in detail. The second half of the class consists of changing components, working towards luscious movement combinations or jumping at the end. The Countertechnique® class results in dancers using less energy, losing their fear of taking risks and gaining speed in changing direction.

🔹Inhabiting the Apocalypse
Who would you/we be in time of apocalypse? This workshop will explore the embodied practices of attention, attunement, and introspection in response to the contemporary polycrisis around us. Through somatic exercises, improvisation scores, and divination methods, together we will ask:
Who are we becoming in the face of global cataclysms and mundane disasters? What modes of relationality, struggle, and transformation are available to us and how do we practice them? Drawing from Adrienne Maree Brown’s science fiction Grievers (2021), we will study the different archetypes of apocalyptic embodiment and create fluid structures of encounter as we learn to inhabit the apocalypse of our time, or better, become apocalyptic to the versions of the world we hope to end.

• Registration via email to [email protected]

This workshop is part of the Artistic Residency Program MOVES - Round 1 and it is a contribution format to Kassel's dance scene. Workshops are for free!

🔹CHOREOGRAPHIC MECHANICS
The aim of the workshop is to provide participants with tools for developing their own research process, leaving them with a kind of “seed” for a possible new creation: a solo, a fragment of movement, or simply a working method that they can develop further. The work therefore focuses on the relationship between a physical structure and its expressive potential, exploring how one can influence, transform and give shape to the other.
