MILITARY MONDAY! Serving her country while building her career at CTC.

Central Texas College employee Larisa Diaz has spent the past year balancing her career, family and service in the U.S. Army Reserve.

Diaz currently serves as Executive Assistant to the Vice Chancellor at CTC. After beginning her CTC career in 2024 as a Clerk III in Incoming Transcripts, she has continued to grow professionally while answering another call to serve.

Diaz joined the Army Reserve in dedication to her son, who passed away at age 18 in 2024. She began as a 42A Human Resources Specialist and recently transitioned to Echo Company, 7-158th General Support Aviation Battalion at West Fort Hood, where she serves as a 92F Aviation Fueler.

As Diaz recently returned from a military deployment, she says CTC's support provides peace of mind.

“The beauty of working for CTC is the support they provide to employees who serve,” Diaz said. “Employment will be here waiting for me when I get back.”

A Harker Heights resident, Diaz is also pursuing a master's degree while raising eight children with her husband.

Her message to other working professionals considering the Army Reserve is simple: “Do it. It’s absolutely rewarding.”
