Last day, last visit to the Urnario Municipal del Cementerio del Norte in Montevideo, designed by Nelson Bayardo in 1959–1962. Last evening to celebrate these two intense weeks filled with discoveries, experiences, learning, and shared moments.

Each day, each student produced one postcard. Gradually the participants replaced their colored paper on our 'wall talks' with postcards they drew. 20 students, 20 colors, 1 postcard per day.

TOOLBOX exhibition: an ongoing interactive archive of HABITAT by flying classroom.

On wedesday 26th of August, whe opened the exhibition with an aperitif at FADU University of Montevideo. 

Flying Classroom, an international Summerschool cultivates the ideal of an unbound, placeless teaching method, based upon the conviction that architecture has to be experienced with all senses..

The Flying Classroom breaks down barriers in the workplace: in situ, in the city, in public spaces, in the architectures studied, in partner universities (here at FADU Montevideo)... it opens up to diverse and playful ways of working that prioritize hand drawing and manipulation.

10 // Buenos Aires 

We spent 3 days in Buenos-Aires, as "lectors" and "flâneurs". We discovered the city, casas chorizos (the Argentine version of the casas patio) and the works of many architects (ítala Fulvia Villa, Antoni Bonet, Clorindo Testa, etc.)

09 // La Plata and the Casa Curutchet of Le Corbusier 

First day in Argentina. We spent the day in La Plata, starting as "lectors" at the top of the cathedral to get a bird's-eye view of the city's ideal grid.
We worked at Casa Curutchet of Le Corbusier and produced new cards to add to the archive of the Flying Classroom.
Thanks to Julio Santana for the final discussion, it was an amazing experience!

08 // Claraboyas

Here is a selection of the "claraboyas"  we saw and studied during our visits to patio houses. These skylights were designed to be removable (on rails) to open the patios to the sky and let the air circulate.
