Hello 🤗 GJU students and welcome to a new city, a new country, and a new chapter in your life!

A warm, sunny Wednesday on campus: the GJU Project Office hosted its traditional ‘Welcome Lunch’ with traditional Mensa food 😉 at Hochschule Magdeburg-Stendal (h2) to mark the start of the semester and welcome the new cohort of GJU students, who are beginning their German Year in Magdeburg. And so far, we’re making a good impression: “The Germans are quite different from how they’re described. They’re open and really warm,” Ibrahim told us.

Flying Faculty Program 2027 | 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱

You can now apply until 📅 18 October 2026 for funded travel to the German Jordanian University.

A professorship, a research post or many years’ practical experience? Bring your expertise to Amman and play an active part in shaping the ‘German Dimension’ of the GJU.

🌍 Flying Faculty Program 2027 – Apply now!

The German Jordanian University (GJU) invites professors and faculty members from German universities, as well as professionals from established corporate partnerships, to apply for the 2027 Flying Faculty Program.

The program strengthens academic exchange between GJU and its German partner universities. As part of a teaching fellowship, participants can offer selected courses at GJU, thereby enriching the university’s “German Dimension” with their expertise.

📚 General Conditions:
🔹 At least 20 teachingl hours in total
🔹 Lecturers willing to teach a full course including giving the exam (~45 teaching hours) would be generally prioritized
🔹 At least 15 hours on-site; additional hours may be held online
🔹 Available starting in mid-March 2027, except in December
🔹 Applications from professors and faculty members with a Ph.D., as well as qualified professionals

✈️ Funding:
🔹 Coverage of travel costs to and from Germany
🔹 126 € per teaching day for lodging and local travel expenses, up to a maximum of seven days
🔹 An additional 29 euros per teaching hour taught

First impressions from the GJU Alumni Ambassador Meeting:



“It was really nice meeting up with fellow GJUers who have pushed through and stayed in Germany through thick and thin.”

“This weekend was insane. We actually had so much fun & took home many learnings from all the amazing people you’ve invited!”

We received these and many more messages following the 9th GJU Alumni Ambassador Meeting, held from 18–20 September 2026 in Kassel.

For a whole weekend, the Universität Kassel campus served as a meeting place for up to 80 alumni of the German Jordanian University from all over Germany.

The conference was about more than just the programme: it was about connecting, exchanging ideas and building a supportive network.

Looking back, it was a vibrant, action-packed weekend: professional insights that sparked further reflection, encounters that went beyond exchanging business cards, and many moments confirming that this network really does provide support, especially when everyday life takes over again.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the speakers, volunteers and guests: for their lasting contributions, the open discussions and the many hands and minds that made this gathering possible in the first place. Special thanks go to the University of Kassel, which, as our host, provided us with its premises, infrastructure and hospitality. We would particularly like to thank Sarah Guttenhöfer from the University of Kassel’s International Office, without whose initiative and active support this event could not have taken place.

At the opening ceremony, Prof. Dr Ute Clement (President of the University of Kassel), Prof. Dr Ala'aldeen Al-Halhouli (President of the German Jordanian University) and Boris Mijatovic (Member of the German Bundestag) shared some inspiring words with us.

🌍 Study Group Mobility 2027 – Apply now!

The German Jordanian University (GJU) and its German partner universities invite students and faculty to participate in the 2027 Study Group Mobility Program.

The program brings together up to five students from GJU and up to five students from a German partner university. Under the joint supervision of one faculty member from each institution, they develop an application-oriented academic or research project over the course of one semester.
The collaboration takes place primarily online. The highlight is a one-week in-person session in Germany or Jordan, during which the students work intensively on the project together, exchange knowledge, and present their results.

𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲:

Industrial Partnership Conference 2026

Wie können Hochschulen und Unternehmen international noch enger zusammenarbeiten? Und welche Möglichkeiten und Potenziale bietet die German Jordanian University (GJU) für deutsche Unternehmen?

Am 20. Oktober 2026 findet die Industrial Partnership Conference auf dem Campus der GJU in Amman, Jordanien, statt.

Gemeinsam mit der GJU bietet das GJU-Projektbüro deutschen Praxispartnern regelmäßig die Möglichkeit, an der Konferenz vor Ort teilzunehmen. In diesem Jahr stehen sechs geförderte Plätze für unsere Praxispartner zur Verfügung.

Im Mittelpunkt stehen interaktive Round-Table-Diskussionen zu aktuellen Fragen der internationalen Zusammenarbeit, unter anderem zur Gewinnung internationaler Fachkräfte, zur Zusammenarbeit von Hochschulen und Unternehmen sowie zu den Anforderungen des internationalen Arbeitsmarktes.

Für uns ist die Konferenz ein gutes Beispiel dafür, wie wir durch diese Veranstaltungen, die wir mitfinanzieren und mitgestalten, den Austausch zwischen Hochschule und Wirtschaft fördern und neue Kooperationen entstehen lassen.

Ingenieurkompetenz für Umwelt, Sicherheit und Nachhaltigkeit: LEOMA GmbH

Wie lassen sich technische Expertise, Nachhaltigkeit und internationale Projekte miteinander verbinden? Ein Beispiel dafür ist die LEOMA GmbH – ein unabhängiges Ingenieur- und Beratungsunternehmen mit Schwerpunkten in Umwelttechnik, Nachhaltigkeit, Genehmigungsmanagement sowie Anlagen- und Maschinensicherheit.

Mit rund 30 Mitarbeitenden arbeitet LEOMA an anspruchsvollen Projekten für Unternehmen aus unterschiedlichen Branchen – von der chemischen Industrie über Maschinen- und Anlagenbau bis hin zu Energie, Entsorgung sowie Luft- und Raumfahrt. Dabei spielen auch Themen wie Ökobilanzierung und die Integration von Nachhaltigkeit in Managementsysteme eine wichtige Rolle.
LEOMA verbindet die fachliche Arbeit mit einem internationalen Blick und möchte seine Projekte auch in der MENA-Region weiter ausbauen.

Für Studierende der German Jordanian University (GJU) ergeben sich dabei interessante Möglichkeiten für Praktika sowie Bachelor- und Masterarbeiten, insbesondere in den Bereichen Umweltschutz, Nachhaltigkeit und Ökobilanzierung.
