Willkommen auf der Facebook-Seite "Hochschule Magdeburg-Stendal international". Hier erwarten euch aktuelle Informationen und Hinweise rund um das Thema „Internationales". Jeder, der sich über internationale Veranstaltungen und Projekte der Hochschule informieren möchte, internationale Studierende der Hochschule kennenlernen sowie Infos zu Aktionen und internationalen Aktivitäten erhalten willl, ist hier genau richtig. KENNT IHR SCHON DAS BUDDYPROGRAMM? Dann wird es höchste Zeit! Das internationale Patenprogramm der Hochschule umfasst pro Semester ca. 150 Teilnehmende und bietet allen heimischen Studierenden die Möglichkeit auf ein interkulturelles Ehrenamt als „Buddy". Buddies helfen internationalen Studierenden an der Hochschule während ihres Aufenthaltes in Magdeburg und Stendal. 🎓 Herzlichen Glückwunsch an unsere Stipendiat*innen! 🎉

Zwölf internationale Studierende der Hochschule Magdeburg-Stendal wurden in diesem Jahr mit einem DAAD-Stipendium aus dem STIBET I-Programm ausgezeichnet. Die Stipendienurkunden wurden von Prof. Dr. Claudia Fülle, Prorektorin für Studium, Lehre und Internationales (k.), überreicht. Wir gratulieren allen Preisträger*innen ganz herzlich zu dieser besonderen Anerkennung! 💐

Die Stipendien wurden in drei Kategorien vergeben:

Als Buddy begleitest du einen internationalen Studierenden ein Semester lang – bei Fragen zum Studium und Alltag, bei Behördengängen oder einfach bei Freizeit- oder Sportevents. ✨

Winter semester is here and so are we! 🤗
Whether you just arrived in Magdeburg or you’ve been here for a while: this semester, we’re meeting up more often and keeping things easy. Just come by, say hi and meet new people.

Did you know your semester fee already includes a nationwide travel pass? 🚆

Your Deutschlandticket comes with it — no extra cost, nothing to buy. Just activate it once in the MVB app with your student ID and you’re set. It covers regional trains, trams and buses all over Germany (just not ICE/IC), so it’s perfect for a weekend trip to Berlin or Dresden.

Confused why everyone keeps talking about two different bank accounts here? 🏦

If you’re a non-EU student, you likely already opened a Sperrkonto (blocked account) before you arrived, to prove your funds for the visa. Once you’re here, you’ll want a normal Girokonto for everyday life — rent, groceries, your phone bill. 🛒💶

For that you need your passport, your Meldebescheinigung and your enrolment certificate. Traditional banks like Sparkasse usually want an in-person appointment; digital banks let you open one online in minutes, no Anmeldung needed yet.

Did you know registering your address here actually pays you? 📋

Anmeldung is one of the first things on your to-do list in Germany — register at the Bürgerbüro within two weeks of moving in (book your Termin at magdeburg.de/terminreservierung or call 115), bring your passport and your Wohnungsgeberbestätigung, and you’re done in a few minutes. 🏠

The city then pays you €70 immediately, up to €160 total over two years. You’ll also need this document later for the Ausländerbehörde, so keep it safe.
