Executive today, founder tomorrow: For our Executive MBA alumnus Dr. Michael Pfenning, the EMBA was not the reason to found his company, but it triggered the decision to do it now.
Michael had always wanted to found his own company. At the time he joined the ESSEC & MANNHEIM Executive MBA, it was to propel his career at SAP. But the Entrepreneurship Module, the contacts to incubators and the startup scene, and the motivation he gained from his cohort gave him the confidence to finally take the step. Elevating Patterns GmbH, an AI-powered software company helping industrial businesses bring their product data under control, has since closed a pre-seed funding round and is now working with its first pilot customer.
Michael’s story is featured in Poets&Quants' new series on Executive MBA entrepreneurs, "Meet The EMBA Class Of Entrepreneurs: Executives Today, Founders Tomorrow," alongside founders from EMBA programs around the world.
