It's almost time! The MBS Summer School 2026 will kick off this Monday – and we can't wait to welcome this year's group to Mannheim.

34 participants, 16 nationalities, 20 universities: starting next week, students from around the world will come together on our campus for three weeks of learning, connecting, and exploring current topics of international business.

The three-week program consists of three modules, each with its own focus: In the first module, participants will dive into the topic of doing business in Germany and the mindset and market dynamics that drive Europe's largest economy. In the second module, the group will examine the hot topic of Artificial Intelligence in Business - from first principles to pitch-ready solutions. The third module will wrap up the program by diving into entrepreneurship and innovation, and the tools needed to navigate uncertainty with entrepreneurial mastery.

Beyond the classroom, participants will visit various companies in one of Europe's most dynamic economic regions, take part in cultural activities, and build connections that are sure to last well beyond the three weeks.

Four students from our Mannheim Full-Time MBA Class of 2026 recently had the chance to attend the in Heilbronn, a three-day conference bringing together MBA students from top business schools worldwide alongside entrepreneurs, executives, and family business owners.

Joel, Piotr, Apoorva, and Pan joined sessions on AI and its impact on business models, leadership, and decision-making. Joel and Apoorva competed in a hackathon with a business development focus for the robotics industry – and Apoorva also led her own session on how physical AI and robotics can create value for businesses.

A nice bonus: they got to connect with ESSEC exchange student Helene and ran into Mannheim MBA alumnus Saif Qazi, who was on stage as a keynote speaker and business founder.

By all accounts, it was a rewarding few days of learning, connecting, and exchanging ideas with a diverse and welcoming group of peers.

The first module of the FACT Talent Program has kicked off at the MAHLE Forum in Stuttgart.

FACT stands for an integrated perspective across Finance, Accounting, Controlling and Taxation. Academically led by Mannheim faculty member Prof. Dr. Jannis Bischof and his experienced academic team, in close collaboration with MAHLE specialists from different departments, the program is designed to strengthen a holistic understanding across finance functions, connect key concepts, KPIs and steering logics, and reflect on current topics.

The week started with a warm welcome from the MAHLE CFO, Markus Kapaun, who then enriched an engaging exchange on current finance trends with MAHLE perspectives on day one. It has set a strong foundation for the group, and we are looking forward to continuing the FACT program together throughout the upcoming modules this year – turning learning into real business impact.

Leading teams, building trust under pressure, and turning leadership theory into hands-on experience – the participants of our Mannheim Executive MBA Class of 2027 took their Outdoor Leadership Training with SCYFCO in France to an impressive level.

Through a series of physical and mental group challenges and crisis simulations, the cohort put core leadership principles into practice, learning how to create a common understanding of the mission, delegating tasks in way that shows trust and makes team members act speedily and with determination.

The Outdoor Leadership Training is undoubtedly one of the highlights of our two part-time Executive MBA programs and will resonate with our participants for years to come. Would you like to share in this learning experience?

What does AI mean for the way we lead? That's the question Prof. Dr. Eric Kearney tackled with the participants in our two-day open course "Leading with AI" last week.

Over two days, the group explored how AI is reshaping core leadership tasks – from decision-making and goal-setting to team dynamics and organizational culture. The second day shifted to practice: hands-on exercises with AI tools and a deep dive into AI-enhanced communication tailored to individual leadership styles.

The course brought together professionals from different industries and organizations like Biotest, Rubinlake, the European Commission, Bundesliga International, and adidas.

The next edition will run November 23–24, 2026 and will be held in German for the first time. You can already register now!

One outstanding Social Class Project is now featured in BGA 's Business Impact magazine (Issue 3, 2026): the 1000 Trees Project, in which our Mannheim Full-Time MBA Class of 2023 identified 1,443 new tree planting locations across Mannheim.

Working district by district, teams combined data analysis with on-site assessments to pinpoint suitable locations and document their findings in a standardized format. The results were handed over to the City of Mannheim – which has since planted a large number of trees in the areas identified by our students.

There was also external recognition for their efforts when the 1,000 Trees Project was shortlisted in the Best CSR and Sustainability Initiative category of the AMBA Association of MBAs & BGA Excellence Awards 2026, receiving a “Highly Commended” accolade from the jury at January’s ceremony in London. Congratulations once again!

Our Mannheim Master in Management Analytics & AI Class of 2027 took their Social Class Project into two very different classrooms – a day-care center for children and a school – to teach children about the ecological importance of wild bees and the loss of habitat driven by urbanization.

In partnership with Mannheim, the team designed two age-appropriate workshops combining theory with hands-on building: participants assembled bee hotels from kit sets and took them home to install. By the end of both workshops at Kinderhaus Torwiesenstraße and Realschule Feudenheim, 60 bee hotels had been built and distributed.

Social Class Projects have been part of our educational philosophy since 2007. The numbers are impressive: approximately 170 projects, more than half a million Euros raised, and countless hours invested in the Rhein-Neckar region and beyond.

Non-graded by design, the Social Class Project asks participants to take a real project from concept to ex*****on – building project management skills, class cohesion, and a genuine sense of social responsibility along the way.

Our Mannheim Full-Time MBA Class of 2026 partnered with Tierschutzverein Schwetzingen to digitize animal documentation and raise awareness for cat neutering. The team developed a prototype for a centralized digital animal management system and organized community events, collecting donations and a tablet for shelter operations.

Our Mannheim Part-Time MBA Class of 2027 teamed up with the Hopp Children's Cancer Center Heidelberg (KiTZ) and the City of Mannheim. Through targeted fundraising activities, they raised donations for pediatric cancer research. On top, they organized a clean-up action around Mannheim's main train station to give back to the city they study in.

Last week, we celebrated the soft launch of COBRA – the Mannheim Center for Corporate Behavior and Regulation Analysis at Mannheim Business School.

Mannheim faculty members and staff came together with COBRA researchers and were welcomed by MBS President Joachim Lutz.

Founded by Prof. Dr. Marcel Olbert, COBRA conducts independent, evidence-based research on how firms respond to regulatory and policy changes, with a particular focus on corporate strategy, investment, governance, competition, innovation, and long-term economic impact. By combining academic excellence with a strong business perspective, COBRA aims to contribute to more informed and effective economic policy debates.

In addition, COBRA supports the development of academic talent through the training of early-career researchers in policy-relevant economics and business research.

We are looking forward to the projects, collaborations, and research ahead!

We are excited to continue our cooperation with ZEISS Group – and to welcome the first of four new cohorts to our Finance for Non-Finance Executives program in Mannheim!

23 participants joined us for three intensive days, covering key topics from financial performance and costing to budgeting, reporting, and investment decisions – always with a direct link to their day-to-day roles. The strong resonance of the program within ZEISS laid the foundation for extending this collaboration, and it showed: the group brought energy, curiosity, and a clear drive to apply what they learned.

We look forward to welcoming the next cohort this summer!
