As we strive to create a more sustainable future, it is vital to consider the impact of our built environment on the planet. One solution is to incorporate ecological building practices into the design and construction of our homes and buildings.

This winter, for the first time, the certificate program Ecological Building was held on this topic.

Our participants received in-depth training in the fundamentals of qualitative and quantitative analysis of sustainability-relevant sub-aspects of buildings and urban neighborhoods.
The focus was on ecological as well as economic, social and technical aspects. Experienced lecturers provided an integral planning approach on how to plan and implement sustainable buildings, neighborhoods and cities for the future.
On our last day we also visited Germany's largest wooden house and ecological model settlement, the Prinz-Eugen-Park in Munich.

Thank you so much for working together to create a greener built environment!

Our huge thank you also to all of our academic partners and practical experts for their engagement and successful collaboration: Prof. Dr.-Ing. Werner Lang, Prof. Dr. Benedikt Boucsein, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Stephan Pauleit, Prof. Dr. rer. nat. habil. Brigitte Helmreich, Prof. Dr. Magnus Fröhling, Jakob Fellner, Dr. Simone Linke, Alice Hollenstein and many more.

We are very much looking forward to our next program run in November 2023!

Is an art, a craft or a science? 🍺

Dr. Martina Gastl, Director of the Forschungszentrum Weihenstephan für Brau- und Lebensmittelqualität at TUM, explains, that “with a history of more than 6,000 years, beer is one of the oldest biotechnologically produced products known to mankind. Brewing is therefore both a craft and a scientific discipline. But brewing is certainly also an art. We work with natural products: It takes a lot of know-how to compensate for seasonal differences in malt and hops and to be able to serve the consumer a beer that always has the same taste and is of consistently high quality. The brewing of beer is also very creative, which is reflected in the ongoing craft beer movement.”

Read more in our interview with her. You will also find interesting insights into the so-called “cradle of the art of brewing” and the research brewery .

0101010111000011110001 – it exists either 0 or 1 is what we learned till now. But computers change this fundamentally – within their logic, 0 and 1 can be both at the same time! That makes them incredibly powerful.

To get deeper into these topics and to enable the synergies between research and industry, we just launched our first pilot courses in this field and our quantum experts prepared two exciting masterclasses for you.

If you want to learn more about this topic or just get a sense of how quantum technologies or quantum computing might affect your branch in the future, join one of our free masterclasses!

The pace of innovation in is accelerating rapidly. Should you be using the technology? 📈💪

The acceptance and use of additive manufacturing processes is gaining momentum. such as the processing of new materials like hard metals or ceramics, more sustainable production processes, more standardization as a prerequisite for mass production or the booming use in construction are all moving us closer to the goal of responsible .

Many thanks to Prof. Dr.-Ing. Katrin Wudy and Prof. Dr. Peter Mayr for your quotes on this topic!

Companies often wonder whether additive manufacturing processes can be used in their business in a commercially viable way. Our program "Additive manufacturing processes - an overview" enables participants to look at business cases and provides the foundation for new business models which can be applied to their own company and situation.
