🦷 TENSILE STRENGTH TESTING

In tensile testing, dental materials are subjected to a controlled tensile force to evaluate their mechanical strength and deformation behavior.

🧪 The test is mainly used for polymers, including 3D-printed dental materials.
🔗 The specimens have a characteristic bone shape to ensure controlled loading in the central testing region.
📈 Depending on the material, the specimens show different degrees of elongation and deformation before fracture.
💪 This allows us to determine properties such as:
▫️ Tensile strength
▫️ Elongation at break
▫️ Elastic deformation
▫️ Fracture behavior

🦷 4-POINT BENDING TESTING

With 4-point bending tests, we determine the flexural strength of dental materials, particularly dental ceramics.

⚙️ The specimen is supported at two points while two additional loading points apply a controlled force.
💥 The load is increased until fracture occurs, allowing us to determine the material’s flexural strength and fracture behavior.
