Nuremberg Moot Court The Nuremberg Moot Court is an international criminal law competition, held in English.

The Nuremberg Moot Court invites participants from across the globe to argue a fictitious international criminal law case before the "International Criminal Court". Dissecting both complex procedural and substantive issues of international criminal law, students are given the opportunity to apply and develop their skills and moot at the momentous Courtroom 600. The unique location of Nuremberg all

ows students to practice international criminal law at its very birthplace, offering a historical educational experience. The organizers coordinate with highly esteemed professionals in the field, such as judges, academics and other practitioners to sit on the moot court bench.

A heartfelt thank you to all the exceptional teams that participated in the Nuremberg Moot Court 2026! 🌍⚖️

This year's edition once again brought together 130 outstanding law students from 34 universities from 25 countries, each contributing unique perspectives and exceptional advocacy. The level of preparation, legal analysis and professionalism demonstrated throughout the competition was a testament to the global commitment to international criminal law and the enduring legacy of the Nuremberg Principles.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the distinguished judges of the finals for their invaluable expertise and thoughtful deliberations, making this competition an enriching experience for all participants.

🏆 We are proud to congratulate the University of Colombo (Sri Lanka), who emerged as this year's champions. Their team—Gevindu Pitiduwa Gamage, Sahanma Perumbuli Achchige and Zaman Mohamed Nazar, coached by Buthmini Levhara Mohotty and Mahin De Silva—delivered outstanding performances throughout the competition.

🥈 Congratulations also to the runners-up, the UNSWUniversity of New South Wales (Australia), represented by Simon Wilton, Will Martin and Rowan Gray, coached by Jason D**g.

With Preliminary Round II now complete, our participants once again impressed with their meticulous preparation 📚, persuasive advocacy 🎤 and insightful legal analysis 💡. Throughout the day, teams tackled complex issues of international criminal law 🌍 and engaged in dynamic exchanges before our esteemed judges 👩‍⚖️👨‍⚖️.

The first day of Preliminary Round I has officially concluded. Today, teams presented their arguments, engaged in thought-provoking legal debates, and demonstrated exceptional advocacy before our judges.

A huge thank you to all participants, judges, and organisers for making the opening day such a success. 🙌 We look forward to another exciting day of competition tomorrow!
