Willem C. Vis Moot Team Osnabrück

www.moot-osnabrueck.de Der Vis Moot Court ist ein internationaler Studentenwettbewerb auf dem Gebiet des UN-Kaufrechts und der privaten Schiedsgerichtsbarkeit.

Ziel des Willem C. Vis Moot Courts ist es, das Interesse von Studenten am internationalen Wirtschaftsrecht und an der Schiedsgerichtsbarkeit zu fördern, indem sie die Position eines fiktiven Mandanten vor echten Schiedsrichtern vertreten. Dies geschieht auf der Grundlage selbst erarbeiteter Schriftsätze und mündlicher Vorträge, die mit den Leistungen anderer Teams verglichen werden. Zum ersten Mal

hat der Vis Moot Court 1993 stattgefunden. Mit fast 300 teilnehmenden Teams gehört dieser Moot Court mittlerweile zu den größten und prestigeträchtigsten Wettbewerben dieser Art. Im Jahre 2003 wurde dann zusätzlich der kleinere Schwesterwettbewerb, der Willem C. Vis Moot Court East, ins Leben gerufen. Diesem Wettbewerb liegt derselbe Fall zu Grunde wie dem Vis Moot Court in Wien. Die Universität Osnabrück nimmt seit zehn Jahren in Wien und seit acht Jahren auch in Hong Kong Teil.

After having submitted the Memorandum for Respondent at the end of January, we got to compete in our first Pre-Moot at our sponsor Clifford Chance in Düsseldorf. Besides getting to catch up with the teams from Bayreuth (), Bochum (), and Göttingen (), we got to gain valuable experience from pleading against them in Düsseldorf.

Thank you for making the Pre-Moot possible and providing us with valuable feedback! We also thank all the teams we got to compete against and which helped us to sharpen our legal argumentation!

𝐋𝐚𝐬𝐭, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭, 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬:

𝐀𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐧, 𝐖𝐢𝐞𝐛𝐤𝐞 𝐊𝐧𝐮𝐝𝐬𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐤𝐚 𝐅𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐢

They successfully represented the University of Osnabrück at the 27th and 31st Willem C. Vis Moot Court. While Ms. Wellmann already got to coach the 28th Vis Moot Team, Ms. Fenni and Ms. Knudsen both participated in last year‘s competition archiving a historic placement in the Round of 16 in the Vienna Finals.

With their competence and their know-how, they hope to support the Team of our University for yet another great performance in this year‘s competition.

“I am excited by the prospect of working intensively in a team in an international context for six months and representing our university in this competition.
