Osnabrück University International Summer Schools

Osnabrück University International Summer Schools UOS International Summer Schools Osnabrück is a beautiful and safe city, situated in the north-west of Germany.

The International Summer Schools are hosted by the University of Osnabrück, a young and lively university which is well known for its research and teaching programs. Due to its long and eventful history, Osnabrück is one of the 14 members of the “Historic Highlights of Germany” association. Every summer, participants from more than 20 different countries come to Osnabrück to take part in the UOS I

nternational Summer Schools. These programs run for 3-4 weeks and are a unique combination of academics, German language courses and a rich cultural program. In 2013, the course program included:

Subject courses taught in English:
- Intercultural Competencies
- Democratic Governance and Civic Engagement
- International Perspectives on Health Care

All courses are taught by subject-specific, international specialists and combine lectures, workshops, time for preparation and revision, as well as several subject-related excursions. Additionally, international students who are registered for a subject course taught in English take part in one of our taster courses in German language and culture (beginners). Upon successful completion of the program, participants will receive a certificate and will usually be granted credit points for their further studies at their home institution. All participants take part in a wide variety of cultural, social and outdoor activities, including an outstanding excursion program to sights in Osnabrück, e.g. visit of Felix Nussbaum museum, Osnabrück Night-watchman tour, an international evening,… and also trips with varied programs and a weekend trip to Berlin! We also offer a spectacular guided mudflat hiking tour from the East Frisian mainland to the island Baltrum, movie evenings and much more. During the program, the International Summer School team will tend to your academic and personal needs at any time!

Was machen die Tandems bis Juli 2016?
• Austausch über E-Mail, Facebook, Skype usw. über Themen, die euch interessieren und über alles, was den internationalen Studierenden zur Vorbereitung für ihren Besuch nach Deutschland dient.

Was machen die Tandems während der „International Face Time“?
• Einige gemeinsame Aktivitäten, unter anderem Kennenlernen und gemeinsames Frühstück, ein Ausflug nach Bremen und beispielsweise eine Movie Night.
• Gemeinsame Zeit zur freien Verfügung (z.B. Stadt bei erkunden, Kaffee trinken, kochen, einkaufen … worauf ihr Lust habt).

Optional: gemeinsam Wohnen und Geld verdienen!
• Falls ihr die Möglichkeit habt, könnt ihr eurem Buddy ggf. für die Zeit der Summer School (1.-31. Juli) gegen eine Pauschale von 250 Euro ein Zimmer untervermieten.
