Huch, was ist denn da los? Bonbons und Roboter?
Dieses Semester haben Eva und Lena im Rahmen Ihres Promotionsstudiums den Kurs „Advanced Microeconomics“ besucht. Hier haben sie sich mit Wettbewerb, Märkten, wie auch Kartell- und Koalitionsbildung beschäftigt und wissenschaftliche Arbeiten aus diesem Bereich präsentiert.
Dabei hat Lena internationale Umweltabkommen als Form der Kartellbildung und somit die Schwierigkeiten bei der Bereitstellung von öffentlichen Gütern vorgestellt. Was eignet sich da besser, als das Öffentliche Güter-Spiel mit den Kursteilnehmer*innen zu spielen?
Eva’s Präsentation handelte von Koalitionsbildung von Robotern mithilfe eines Algorithmus‘. Wie das am Ende aussieht, wenn Roboter sich zur Erledigung einer Aufgabe abstimmen, hat sie den Teilnehmer*innen in einem Video gezeigt. Sind die kleinen staubsaugerartigen Wesen nicht mindestens so süß, wie die Bonbons?
Der Kurs ist sehr empfehlenswert und eignet sich sowohl für Master- als auch Promotionsstudierende.

Oops, what’s going on? Sweets and robots?
This semester, Eva and Lena attended the “Advanced Microeconomics” course as part of their doctoral studies. Here they studied competition, markets, as well as cartel and coalition formation and presented scientific papers from this field.
Lena presented international environmental agreements as a form of cartel formation and thus the difficulties in the provision of public goods. What could be better than playing the public goods game with the course participants?
Eva’s presentation was about robots forming coalitions with the help of an algorithm. She showed the participants in a video what it looks like in the end when robots coordinate to complete a task. Aren’t the little vacuum cleaner-like creatures at least as cute as the sweets?
The course is highly recommended and is suitable for both Master’s and doctoral students.
